Overall great drill bit at a great price for Bosch quality tools. The shaft is smaller than the cutting head (1/2 hole) and this allows drill dust to be pushed out without having to remove the bit every 6" to clear the dust. My previous bell hanger's bit did not have this feature and you had to wrestle with it every time. The only thing that puzzles me about the Bosch bit is why the fish hole is so small. I will have to use a smaller pilot wire for the drill and tie that to the larger diameter wire. The other thing I like about this bit is that it comes in a tube that is intended as a storage case. This is a great feature imo because it will help make sure that the bit doesn't accidentally score up anything nor will the cutting head get dinged up by my other tools. Keep the bit clean, packed properly, don't lose or forget who you lent it to and it should last a lifetime. Bosch quality, great design, tube for storage, excellent price, you can't go wrong here.

The stiff shaft and length are ideal for drilling through sill plates and load-bearing walls. The stiff shaft makes for reliable placement of the bit and accurate drilling at a 45-degree angle needed to exit at the center of the sill plate.
