This is wonderful to use for killing ants in house. I used under house so my dog couldn’t eat (poisonous to animals) it. Haven’t seen another ant since.

Living in the Sunshine State has its perks, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges. Aside from the sweltering humidity and occasional hurricane scares, we Floridians also have to contend with an abundance of unwanted houseguests. No, I am not referring to your ex-husband, but maybe close...I am talking about those dreaded palmetto bugs, AKA -roaches that grow to the size of small house pets. I've tried every store-bought solution imaginable, but nothing truly worked until I remembered I had been given a recipe to get rid of them from my time living in Japan (what now seems like a lifetime ago): homemade cockroach biscuits. Thanks to the internet (a luxury I didn't have back in my Japan days), I discovered that this recipe has gained a cult following over the years, with countless testimonials raving about its effectiveness. Intrigued, I decided to give it a go, and boy, am I glad I did!The secret ingredient in these miraculous biscuits is boric acid, and that's where Florida Laboratories Boric Acid Granular Powder comes in. This 2lb bag is a steal for the price, providing enough boric acid to wage war on an entire roach army. Now, I'm a psychologist, not a chemist, but whipping up a batch of these biscuits is surprisingly simple. Just combine boric acid with a few common household ingredients like milk, onions, sugar, and flour, roll them into little balls, and strategically place them in roach-prone areas. It's like offering them a gourmet meal – with a fatal side effect.Within days of deploying my homemade roach bait, I noticed a dramatic decrease in the number of unwelcome visitors in my kitchen. And after a few weeks, they were practically nonexistent. It was like a scene out of a horror movie, but in reverse – the monsters were disappearing! The best part? Boric acid is relatively safe for humans and pets, so I don't have to worry about exposing my family to harsh chemicals. Plus, it's incredibly versatile, working wonders on ants, silverfish, and even those pesky fruit flies that seem to appear out of thin air.

Be careful when using. Follow manufacturer's directions. Use disposable gloves, N95 mask and wear long sleeve shirt and pants. Eliminated my ant problem immediately, and hopefully my termite problem too.Keep away pets and pet food/water when applying.

Living in Florida, you sometimes deal with a lot of bugs. This product is what you need to solve that problem. I had a big ant problem and nothing was working, a friend recommended boric acid mixed with sugar and flour around the perimeter of my house and in spots where I saw the problem most inside. so I tried it and two weeks later I still have no ants. With pesticides, 2-3 days they were coming back. This is the only thing that has taken them and palmetto bugs I wasn’t even aware of out. Highly recommended and will buy again.

Great for getting rid of Ants, Yellow jackets, Wasps, and Hornets. Mix a little bit in with a bait and it kills the whole nest/colony. If you use it in traps, it's safe for honey bees because they only go after nectar, not sugar, meats, etc.

Florida Labs has boric acid in a decent quantity, and at a very reasonable price. They shipped promptly , and I am satisfied .My local drugstore no longer carries boric acid, and anyway I am using it it larger quantities , so the little 4 oz containers they used to sell would be impractical . I am using it for treating wood. Coating raw wood with a borax+boric acid solution can make it termite resistant , as long as either it never gets wet, or you paint or stain over it. Mixing the same solution into paint can make the wood resistant to fire;not, mind you, fire proof, but fire resistant . Supposedly the borax when exposed to high temps sort of forms a glassy surface which is more difficult to ignite . I researched it a little , and a US govt site I found said that the most effective solution was 5 parts borax to 4 parts boric acid, and as long as the paint was at least 10% borax solution it would be effective. The recipe I used was 7ozs of borax, 3 ozs of boric acid, 2qts boiling water. I used a postage scale . 7 ozs of borax is a little more than a cup, and 3 ozs of boric acid is just about a cup. I doubt that it needs to be exact .I mixed the powders together then poured the water over them , and stirred. They dissolved very well and I used the cooled solution to coat some raw wood, and the next day mixed the same solution into primer and recoated it. On the third day I mixed it into the paint, so I gave it a triple whammy. Water based paint, of course. One caveat: The solution changed the color of my paint. I used paint left over from painting our house a few years ago to paint a tool shed. The house is a soft, creamy off-white, with a faint yellow tinge. The tool shed is perhaps the whitest thing I have ever seen in my life. It isn't shiny or anything, but when the sun shines directly on it it's so bright it's hard to look at. I don't care, the color I wanted to paint it is "fire resistant".
