This strainer looks good. This is not really for filtering. It has a coarse screen to catch occasional sand particles and the like. It's not designed to catch a lot of material. That should be done with a large dedicated filter.

We've purchased these at work before for our large washer system, and some vendors are asking $200 for them which is insane. This isn't anything fancy, it's a y with a screen in it. This one will work fine for the large sediment in our well water before it hits the 20" filter in line. Pulling the screen is easy as well. Just need a socket and you're good to go.

Threads are cut to deep, ftgs bottom out as taper wont tighten. Tried 3 different mip ftgs they all bottom out and won't seal as pipe thread should! Tried dope and tape (10 wraps) threads just wouldn't tighten.
