Fantastic E-reader. Don’t pay attention to the negative reviews here complaining about not having the kindle app. The people that left those reviews clearly don’t understand that this is an android based device, very different from Kobo, nook, or Kindle. All apps available to android devices (to my knowledge) are available on this device due to its use of android and the google play store. All you have to do is login to your google account (YouTube, Gmail, etc.) and you will be able to download any ebook app you desire.Personally I don’t like the included ebook app NeoReader. It’s a completely fine app, however every time you lock the device it resets the app from the current book back to the shelf. This may be an option that I’m missing in settings, but I prefer that when I open my ebook apps, that they automatically re-open the last book I was reading.Instead of NeoReader, I side loaded an app called KoReader. I’ve used this before on Samsung phones and really liked it.The one negative I can find about the device is the finger print reader. It’s not a terrible fingerprint reader, I just have frequent fingerprint read fails and I just have to lift my finger and reposition it. Not a huge problem, but something to consider.Battery life is great, only if you keep WiFi and Bluetooth off. With both on, the battery drains quickly and will probably only last a day or two. With both turned off, I would have gotten 5+ days, but I recharged it on the 5th day just because I wanted to make sure it would last while at work.I have a Kobo Libra 2, however that has been relegated to the shelf since this device is just so convenient and powerful! I love that I can put it in my pants pocket and take it everywhere I go, something I cannot do with larger ereaders.

I love my Kindle paperwhite but I use my local library a great deal and I have my books from Barnes and Noble’s Nook platform as well. I was looking for a one stop shop that wasn’t my phone and was easier on my eyes. I have difficulty stepping away from the many notifications on my phone and I just want to be able to read like I can on my Kindle. This runs on an Android platform. You just use the Google Play store for the apps you want. I can use Libby, Hoopla, Audible, Libro.fm, Spotify, and Nook all from one device that is the size of a phone with e-ink. There is little to no lag on the e-ink like there is on my older Kindle. No waiting for a book to show up in your library after sending it from Libby. I still use my Kindle for reading at home but this has become my travel e reader.

Yes, this device is very expensive, but if it's a possibility to be your next eReader, give it a chance. I have a few Kindles, including the most recent Jade Signature Edition. The portability of the Palma 2 is just too good to pass up. My Kimdles have always JUST been too big to throw in a pocket. The Palma 2 fits perfectly side by side with my Galaxy S25 Ultra in my front pocket. I love pulling it out and getting some reading done when I have 5 minutes. Definitely beats the mindless scrolling on my phone. Do not expect flagship smart phone type quality operation and manipulation of various screens and apps, but if you keep your expectations reasonable for a good, extremely portable eReader, you'll love it.

I found this very hard to set up only to find there’s no kindle app. Trying to download my kindle library proved so complicated, I gave up and sent the whole thing back. Feels cheaply made with horrible instructions. Just awful.

I have two Scribes and one Oasis. All are great machines, but the Palma among them is special. I use it for Kindle, Kobo, Libby, Google Play books, Apple books... all my book apps. It has text-to-voice capability and can handle audio books as well. It reads them all without fuss, fits nicely in the hand -- i.e. is handy, and very pretty to boot. Expensive but worth every penny if reading and annotating is your thing. What's more, where Kindle devices still can't pick up on the Scribe's handwritten notes, Palma can! (Won't pick up the new in-text annotations of the latest Scribe update, but the sticky notes are there, whereas they are still invisible on my Oasis.).
