I got this set for the next time I'm working on a bolt that strips so that I'm not stuck and struggling to get it out. I've had that happen more than once and did not have the right tools to get the bolt out. That is not only frustrating, but it burns so much time struggling to get the bolt loosened with vice-grips or other means. This is a very durable and complete kit with a very nice storage case that will assist you in removing those stripped bolts and screws. I was initially going to get the kit for bolts only, but this chose the 26 piece kit so that I had the bolt and screw removers in one kit, especially with the nice storage case. Great Product!

Not a male, but I do a lot of DIYs and use tons of items with batteries. I recently screwed my pet food dispenser piece on wrong but stripped one of the screws when I tried to remove it to put it back on correctly. None of the tricks you find on the web worked and was mad if I ruined the feeder because of the darn screw. I've tried them all. I was lucky to find out about these and quickly ordered. It took a few minutes to figure out how to use it. There are no instructions except for 3 steps with images inside the cover, but it's hard to see. I also didn't know which direction my drill needed to be set to remove the screw. After a few tries, I figured it out and the stripped screw came out fast! So thankful for finding this and not having to break the pet feeder. I was worried it wouldn't work since it was a very tiny screw, but the smallest remover worked perfectly. I have an old Tomogachi that I tried to change the battery but also stripped the screw. Once I remember where I put it, I'm going to try and see if I can remove it with this tool. It takes no time at all once you figure out how to do it.

*** This is an edit of my first review *** Seller initiated a refund after my issues. Kudos for supporting their product.*** Initial review*** I only tested the smallest 3 sizes trying to extract a broken brass screw from a piece of machine steel. The bit ends of these tools are simply too short. I now recommend anyone by a separate set of left-hand drill bits and then a set of extractors.

There's not much more to say beyond my title, it looks well-built and comes with everything a set like this would need. Thankfully I haven't needed it yet, but compared to my last set it seems really nice. My last set, for the record, rarely worked. The bits would break before the screw came out, and the extractor threads would grind themselves flat before biting into the metal. This set looks much better made, and I will update this review once I get a chance to use it, if need be.

In the package you get the bolt extractor kit which comes with 26 pieces, broken down into three major categories- bolt extractors, screw extractors, and left handed drill bits.I currently don't have a stubborn item that I need to extract right now, so I'll start by saying that I have not used this kit yet. I have three cars that I do my own maintenance on, plus I do all of the maintenance on my house and appliances, so I run into situations where I need a kit like this with some frequency. I have used other kits before, and can say that this is a very complete and high quality set. They do a pretty good job showing how to use this kit, but I will expand on it a little bit. When you need to extract a bolt that is somewhat rounded, you simply put the correct size bolt extractor onto your drill, change the direction to reverse, and then the extractor will bite into and remove the bolt.If you have a flush piece of metal that possibly has a Phillips head, hex, or similar inlay, then you will use the left-handed screw extractor. The instructions there are the same, put the bit into your drill, set the drill to reverse, and then as you drill it will bite into the screw and then screw it out.The left-handed drill bits are for those situations where you don't have a great way to enter the metal screw that you are extracting, and you have to create it yourself. Put on the appropriately sized drill bit, put the drill into reverse, and apply direct pressure. The sharp tip will help create a hole, and will clear debris (blowing it out) as you drill further in.I feel much more confident working on cars and items around the house knowing that I have this extractor set in hand. If something should go wrong, I will take a deep breath, pull out the extractor set, and methodically solve the problem by extracting the problem. Without this set, the experience would be very different.Overall I'm very satisfied with the quality and completeness of this kit, and feel that it deserves five stars.
