Plugging this adapter to my audio interface and then to my DAW in my iPad allowed me to connect my external MIDI devices or my guitar (to the interface) and the program picked it up without a problem. It definitely works.

These things have surprisingly decent build quality: the case is metal and it doesn't feel cheap or lightweight. The Type B connector has a nice firm fit and isn't loose or wiggly when plugged in.I'm using these with Arduinos and get a reliable connection so it seems to do the job.
