This fan motor has proven to be a solid replacement option for my old bathroom fan. I opted to get a more powerful fan compared to the rgular 50CFM, which was very quiet. Why not go larger? This one boasts a 70 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) airflow, which is more than adequate for my standard-sized bathroom, effectively clearing out moisture and odors quickly after a shower (as long as you remember to turn it on).Pros:Not-So Quiet Operation: This is a major selling point for me. Compared to my old motor, it's significantly louder. The noise level is now acceptable to give you privacy while in the bathroom. After all, who likes a quiet bathroom, let me answer for you, no one. (especially a hallway bathroom!)Strong Airflow: The 70 CFM rating seems accurate. It effectively removes steam and humidity, preventing mold and mildew buildup. My bathroom now dries much faster after showers.Easy Installation: Replacing the old motor was surprisingly straightforward. The motor fit perfectly into my existing fan housing (be sure to check compatibility before purchasing!). The included instructions were clear and easy to follow. Even someone with basic DIY skills should be able to handle the installation.Affordable Price: Compared to replacing the entire fan unit, just swapping the motor is a much more budget-friendly solution. The BOJACK YJF6178 offers excellent value for the price.If you're comfortable reusing your existing fan housing this motor is definitely worth considering.

For my fan housing - the bolts were the wrong way. I was able to reverse it (remove bolts and flip the whole stick / motor and bolts) but that makes it spin the opposite direction. Like another commenter said, it seems to still be sucking air up instead of blowing down, being reversed, but I am not sure this is going the direction it’s supposed to be going now . It is blowing harder and a lot louder, hopefully that means it’ll have better air movement, but if it’s not quite running the correct direction that lag all be moot. I’m questioning my purchase

Bathroom fan quite working. I ordered this fan motor, unfortunately the motor was completely backwards (my fault). I was able to modify the motor to work. Just be careful that that long, stand-offs are on the correct side of the motor. I had to pull the motor apart and with my dremel, I had to open the side of the motor so that I could put the motor back together in the opposite direction. The motor then worked perfectly. As I said I ordered the wrong part, but was able to make it work. Just be careful when you order that it is the right one. The motor works flawlessly now.

Powerful, heavy, feels well made - but VERY loud compared to the dead fan it replaced which was also 70CFM. Also vibrates a bit - to the point that I had to use rubber washers when attaching it to the bracket. If you need high airflow, and noise is not an issue, this is a good replacement.

It did not work in my case as the bathroom fan I had was built to an earlier standard. But the product in hand and working when powered was noise less and feels solid. I tried many other brands out of all I felt this as the best. Packaging and working.

The picture is of the broken motor unit. The replacement was exact but I wonder if it will last the nearly 40 years that the one it replaced did. Great value for my money, I didn't have to replace the entire enclosure, just the motor and squirrel cage.
