I'm usually a fan of another famous brand needles and someone challenged me to try these and not like them. Took the challenge and lost! These are very nice needles.

I really like these needles because they are sharp and the eye is just big enough to use a needle threader, while still being small enough to use for bead embroidery.

I’m a beginner at needle turn appliqué so take this review with that in mind. I kept practicing but was unhappy with my projects because I’m also a perfectionist. I took some advice from a Pinterest tutorial and tried these needles and silk thread. Almost instantly my projects look nearly perfect. I’ve used these needles without the silk thread if I need a color that I don’t have in silk and the results are still much better than before. Also, though the eye of the needles are still small like all appliqué needles for some reason they are a bit easier to thread. I’m very pleased and won’t feel the need to hide future projects in my closet.

I'm not sure why the ratings ask me to allot stars for things like THICKNESS or SHEERNESS. They aren't thick because of the size needle; that's the point, that they are thin. Also, how is a sewing needle "sheer?" Makes no sense.These are, however, my new favorite universal hand-sewing needle! I purchased them to work on a cross-stitch project on 40 ct linen (omg so tiny!). I have also used them for hand-sewing face masks and hemming pants. They are thin yet sturdy, glide through all kinds of fabrics, have a long eye (easier for embroidery floss), the eye is machined so the thread glides through the eye with no snags...I really love this brand and this size/type especially. I'll probably invest in some other types of needles from Bohin (the long ones for doll-making or milliner's). I like them better than John James and they are infinitely better than Dritz, DMC or Singer.Highly recommended!
