Regardless of how well it works, the description is misleading. If you buy the larger size fridge then be prepared to buy a cord also. It does not come ready to plug in and go. There's just loose wires and you will need to hard wire it in or attach a cord.I am NOT ok with this and will now need to find help to make this fridge usable.

This is our second BodegaCooler product... the first being a powered cooler. Let me tell you, having a fridge in the car is a game changer for everything from soccer nights to grocery runs. We loved the cooler so much we grabbed this as an alternative for our other vehicle. I think this particular setup works better as a semi-permanent car fridge because of the nice flat form factor. It is a large unit, they aren't kidding when they say nearly 2ft long once you factor in the compressor on the back. And, it's heavy enough that you're not going to want to move it in and out of a vehicle all that much. It does come with backets if you're mechanically inclined and don't mind popping some holes in your vehicle to mount it. Just be sure to leave a bit of space behind it for the compressor to actually work. If you put it flush and restrict the air flow you're not going to get good performance and you'll burn it up eventually.Unlike the cooler, this one is designed to always have power. It comes with a 12v lighter plug and a regular 110 cord as well. If your vehicle has the lighter plug in the back you're good. Otherwise you can have a professional (or yourself) wire up a permanent 12v power source. Supposedly it has intelligence onboard to shut down the compressor if it detects low voltage from your vehicle. Should help keep your battery healthy!Load this up with drinks for after the kids games, or get it nice and cold for extended errands without having to worry about things going bad. If you let this chill down, it does stay cold for easily 30-45 minutes should you need to shut the car off and do something else. Just be sure to get it down to temp first!

We live in a temperate region and often travel an hour to a large flea market or Trader Joes, so buying ice or ice packs to keep perishables good for the drive back is a must. My wife drives an SUV, so then I saw this 12 volt fridge, I have to admit I was intrigued at the possibilities. The box it arrived in is impressively large. I pulled it out and found that it comes with a regular 110 volt adapter as well, which is a plus. I plugged it in on the counter to test it out and found it was very quiet while running. The thermostat has quite a range, allowing use to buy frozen items as well. The refrigeration unit on the back of the unit is what really makes it long. It fit in the back of the SUV, but just barely. Luckily, we had a 12 volt port in the cargo area, but you would need an extension if you don't have one close. We used it for a run to the farmstand off the highway and it was great to put eggs and milk in for the trip back. It really simplifies things since we don't need ice anymore. This coming summer we are going to make the 1500 mile drive up to our cabin in the north woods of Wisconsin and can't wait to use this fridge for the trip. With the power adapter, we can plug the fridge in at hotels along the way for overnight stays. We did find that the fridge will go into a power savings mode if the voltage get too low (aka the car is turned off), so it won't just run the battery down when you stop somewhere. The fridge comes with an app which gives you the ability to see status and set the temperature, but we didn't see that need beyond it reassuring us it was running. It is easy enough to install and use. Overall, this is a reasonably priced travel fridge that works great in our SUV and would be perfect for a travel trailer. I had considered keeping it in my shop for drinks, but didn't want to cover it in dust and debris. If you need a travel fridge, this one works well.

So I’ve had this fridge and have been using it for a couple months. I lucked out and saw it for $199 and took advantage before the price increased to $569.So this is what I think. For $199 I got a deal but for $569 I’m not 100% sure. It’s gets coolBut not ice cold hice I need for meats when I camp. Maybe not ice frozen but ice cold is what I’d like. I think with some more insulation this fridge might do a little better.I replaced an arb 50qt because I wanted something smaller to fit more in my cargo area.So far I’m liking it but would like to see it get colder. The app is helpful and would like to add most of the ones priced similar don’t have that option. This review is not a sponsored or paid review. This is my personal opinion after having used it on more than a handful of trips in the last 2 months.
