We are pleased with the quality of the product. It runs fairly quietly and as we will be using this for car camping this is an important factor. Seems to be energy efficient although as yet we have only tested it at home but we are impressed. The unit had slight damage in transit and when we contacted the seller, B&T-USA, they were responsive and addressed our concerns positively. Very satisfied with this purchase.

I purchased this cooler in 2020 for a weeklong camping trip. It worked great. 4 years later it’s still kicking. Originally it has a bad vibration due to an over torqued screw. I backed it out and tightened it back down and is very quiet now. This thing keeps stuff frozen, is durable, efficient, and quiet. My only gripe is the hard mounted handles sticking out the side. But helps with insuring there is enough space for the vents to breath.

The seller (Geckos) has always been there to answer my questions almost immediately. I have asked 3 different questions since I have owned the C40 unit for 1 year. First was how to go from C to F.Third question was critical to adjusting the temp. It got stuck at either 33F or 41F. I received the correct instructions/solution within minutes to fix (reset) it in settings. And IT WORKED. Thank you!! (The Settings programming options are quite obtuse. So Gecko's help is critical.)Otherwise the unit seems very good for the price point. I keep it on constantly for 6 months a year in my sailboat.Except when my unit changed the temp on its own once and got stuck, it works very well. But, as stated, the Geckos staff helped me immediately. The fridge can also be set to be easy on my boat batteries when no shore power is available. One 40 watt Coleman solar panel keeps it all going (and the minimal draw at night means the batteries are good all night).(And remarkably if set at about 34F, somehow it keeps a baggie of ice cubes for drinks frozen indefinitely without freezing the other items. Wow!)

Our RV fridge died one week before we were taking our grandkids on a month long camping trip. We chose this unit for its flexibility; refrigerator or freezer and the reviews of reliability on bumpy rough roads. It proved to be a life saver. It functioned exactly as written, maintained temp regardless of auto plug-in, or electrical 110. When we stopped in 100+ degree weather, it maintained a sufficiently cool temp. And it easily holds quart of milk, large orange juice, dozen eggs, 4-pint sized containers, 6-soda cans, 4-1/2 pint containers, with lots of room for veggies, lunch meats, hot dogs, cheeses, fruit, butter, every perishable we needed for 10 days at a time. When we returned home, our household freezer quit and we unloaded our large, over stuffed freezer into this unit and set the temp to zero. It took about 15 minutes to reach freezing and is holding our food at zero for days now, plugged into 110.We couldn’t be more delighted with this unit. It’s everything the manufacturer claims, and more‼️ Oh, our nearest Trader Joe’s is 1-1/2 hours away. We took it shopping in our car, filled it with frozen food, set the unit to freeze and drove home in 108 degree weather. Food frozen solid when we got home. I LOVE this unit! Well worth the money and all the various plugs are included.Yes. It’s super quite. I had to check it to be certain it was running. You won’t regret this purchase.

Cons - no interior light, Celsius reading only, no interior basket or organization dividers, 12v cord may slip out of power source.Pros - energy efficient, pretty quiet, holds temp well, solid construction, pretty basic modern design and colorThis is my 3rd 12v fridge. I have an ARB and other much cheaper off brand found online. Both work great for what I use them for. Only reason for this purchase was to get a fridge that fit a certain space in a pop up truck camper. I needed a fridge that wasn’t expensive, with modern subtle colors, energy efficient and opened a certain way to allow for use within the space I have. This fridge fit all my needs and works well. It doesn’t have many of the other options you’d get by spending a little more money but it does the job. One of the most unexpected things is it’s solid construction. I unexpectedly use this as a step to get in and out of the bed portion of my camper. The metal housing and solid plastic top allow me to step on it with confidence (although I’m sure it’s not recommended to use this fridge as a step) it handles the weight of an average sized person (200lb and less) without budging. Ended up using my ARB 12v cord with 2 prong screw in adapter to avoid disconnecting power in my Jackery 500 when hitting a few bumps. The power adapters appear to be identical and interchangeable. I recommend this fridge if you can get used to reading Celsius since Fahrenheit doesn’t seem to be available. No matter though since most of these fridges readings are off by a few degrees anyway. Best to set the fridge at about 5 degrees above freezing, then check it often when first using it to see if it’s set to your liking. A separate temp gauge that you leave inside and check periodically would help until you get used to the temp settings and fluctuations.

Got this in june 2019. We have been using it off and on last year on our RV.. couple week here and there.. Now the end of may 2020 we went fulltime in our RV and this has been in use full time. We use it as extra refrigerator space and for a place to put tall stuff.Be sure to check the reviews for the hidden setting info. https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3BF0LCRFSOJ0K?ASIN=B073WYS3TRthe unit has been sitting on the floor of our RV on the roads of NY, PA, OH, NH (lost 2 hub cap of truck and 2 off RV) so it has been beat around for the past 2.5 months and still keeps on running. It runs as either a cooler or freezer depending on your temp set point but not both.I have it plugged into my 12v port that is appx 12 ft from the batteries(12 ga wire) and the cord on the unit is appx 9 ft long and looks to be 12 ga so the voltage drop is appx 2.5 volts when running so if you set the battery protect setting at 12.5 it will shut off.. I put mine at the lowest which is 9.6v.. and have no issues with battery voltage down to 12.1 volts at battery.Overall for the most part it a good product that seem to be a tough cookie.. :)LAST but not least.. after you get the product do NOT plug it in for at least 12 hrs.. WHY.. ??? it could have been put in a truck upside down ( I found mine on the front porch upside down despite the UP arrow) so take it out of the box open the lid to let it air out and let it sit for the day.. that allows the oil to go the right place when you start it up.. >>>UPDATE: so here we are in Dec of 2020 and some now 8K+ miles of RV travel with this sitting on teh floor bouncing around, sometime crazy stuff, and still going strong. I put some non slip stuff on the bottom to help keep it some sliding around when we travel.. the space inside has been a real treat when we go to like costco and have 3 containers of OJ and 2 Qts of milk to store when you have a 8CF refrigerator to begin with.you will get some moisture in the bottom over time so we pull everything out and give it a good clean every couple months and especially before a big trip to costco for sure.If i were to replace it I would go the larger 2 section unit the Alpicool T60 to more freezer space which reduces the refrigerator size by some. so far so good.. :)UPDATE: Sept 2022.. so here we are again with an update.. this unit has been one of the best item gotten in a long time. it works every day all day and the extra storage area is such a help when you full time rv and have a Sams and costco accounts.. :) you can stuff a lot of stuff in it to help .. runs off the batteries which are now 230 Ah lithium.. we look forward to many more years of usage.. i do blow out the fins about once a year or so when we clean it out and take outside to do. it get unplugged and I take the covers over and blow the dust etc out of the fan.. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE it.. :)UPDATE... Oct 2024,, shortly after the sept 2022 update the unit started to show frost up near the top above the compressor end. We had to replace it as it was not able to maintain temp.. suspect it was a slow leak causing the problem.. went to alpicool website to get slight discount and free shipping.. oh course the delivery guy left it on friends door upside down.. flipped it over and let it sit of 3 hrs or so before plugging in to allow oil to flow back to compressor. plugged in and good to go.. a great addition.. highly recommend..
