Some negatives are that the outlets are too close so some things can't be plugged together. The cord is very short. Each outlet can't be programmed individually. Other than that it works good. Timer is punctual. Easy to read. Easy to program.

I've now burned through at least 4 outdoor timers. They seem to make it through about a year. I will have to see what the life on this one is. I use these to connect to my low voltage transformer that powers my yard lights. I always like having ones that have two outlets, not just one. It is also frustrating to try to set them up indoors, unplug them, have them lose your set up, and have to set them up again once plugged outside. With this one, you have a battery back up so you can set it up indoors. Unlike the last one I owned, this one will quickly allow you to set all 7 days for the same time without having to set each day individually. I also like that I can hit a button, switch to manual, and test my lights to see if they are working or not. What seems to do these digital outdoor ones in is weather. Once they get too wet, they tend to fail. So we will see how this one fairs. It does have a cover, which hopefully will help.

I was finding that it was becoming a bit of a chore to plug in and unplug my Christmas lights every day. Needing to remember to plug them in wasn't always easy, but not the end of the world, but needing to go outside in the cold of winter late at night I've already settled in for the evening is not a desirable task, to say the least. A programmable timer was my favourite addition to my Christmas decorations this year.The instructions for the timer are very clear, so it was very easy to set up (in under 5 minutes), and works perfectly. 4pm, lights go on 9pm, lights go off. Like clockwork...so to speak.The quality of the timer feels very good. Not quite like the quality of metal products from years of past, but not cheap like hollow-feeling plastic electronics that is commonly found these days.

Very sturdy and easy to use. It hasn't missed a beat since I installed it. It's not the best looking thing in the world, but if it's installed in a discrete place, you don't even notice it. I definitely recommand it.
