My old transformer would work and then it wouldn't work. I replaced it with this one and it worked perfectly with the photo cell built into the unit. I hooked it up in a matter of about 5 minutes. I am very happy with the transformer and it was about $50 less than the local hardware store had in stock.

Picked up this transformer for some outdoor lighting effects we had added to our home and so far it works great for that! Wiring up was straightforward and didn't run into any issues, and has been performing as expected for low voltage lights! Planning on taking this and installing into our new house soon and for the value you get, I would purchase again and recommend!

This is my second transformer. The postal service apparently played football with the first one. Even though it has a practically bullet proof case it was cracked open. I did a return and exchange thing and within two days I had a new one in my hot hands and this time it's a perfect unit! I hadn't even sent the broken one back yet when the new one arrived here! It's heavy. Almost 6 lbs. which gives me confidence that it will handle some serious current load and last.It has 6 modes including just 'on'. It has preprogramed settings for on (which turn off at dawn), 2-hour, 4-hour, 6-hour, 8-hour and 10-hour durations. There is a photo censor in front so you have to mount it outdoors. It looks watertight and very robust but common sense would dictate that you install it under eaves or something to prevent direct contact with water and out of direct sunlight to prolong its life. You'll have to get creative to hide it and its wires if that matters to you. I will put it around a corner where it still gets light and use painted out conduit for the wires. I will experiment to see just how much light that censor needs to work and hide it as best I can.I can't test it with lighting yet because I haven't found any low voltage lighting so far that I like. I'm on it though! If I can remember... heh, I will come back and update this review after I get some. According to a previous reviewer, who seems to know what he is talking about, this will only work with AC Low Voltage lights because it only puts out low voltage AC, not DC. Makes sense because an LED is a diode and only lets current only flows one way...I plugged it in. It powers up and seems to function just fine according to the slightly weird but still decipherable Chinese to English instructions- as they often are. But later, if not, there's that great customer service! There’s a phone #, email support and a website listed on the instructions. The instructions also say: "Designed in California, Made in China". Best of both worlds, I suppose. With the increasing quality and inexpensiveness of China-made, we’re gonna be hard pressed to keep up with them! Oh well, we Americans love a good fight, no matter what the realm! Great unit. Very happy & I'd buy it again!

I needed a transformer to add lights around my deck area. I prefer 12V over solar where I can use it, and just had an outside outlet added for this purpose. This unit is relatively small in size, so it blends in with the house better. My my use case, I only needed 6 or 7 lights, so 120 Watt is adequate. If you need to power more than about 8 lights (~10 to 12 Watt per light), consider a larger Watt transformer (BN-Link has a 200 and 300 Watt model). The unit is easy to set up and operate. It has a built in photocell for Dusk to Dawn operation. It also has a convenient On/Off switch that allows you to test connections at any time of day. The unit is well built, and support is excellent. I recommend
