this is a retrofit model so yes you may see behind the very top. the unit is very well made. the pressure is great...much better than my previous more expensive one. the only thing i did was swap out the hand held for my existing moen one...it has options plus a better flow. the back connecting water line has 45 angle head which makes it sit flat but it was a bit long for my installation...it kinks if you wrap it so i swapped out with a looser flex shower hand held hose and it was perfect. i would buy another for sure. looks great and boy nice to have the tall rainshower head so us 6 footers can stand tall and not duck under the head.

After spending two hours to install and coucking, find out that valve is defective. How it packed and shipped if it wasn't tested properly!!!Very disappointed with product and return.

We purchased this to replace a similar fixture that went out. The water pressure is solid and unlike other reviewers, once installed we cannot see the open back at all. My only and biggest complaint is that the water stains on this fixture are awful. This needs to be wiped down after every use.

The original one that arrived when I opened it up the styrofoam inside the box was busted, so not sure if this was a return that I got sold. Either way water would not go through it. Given the houses and nozzles I think it was the mixing valve. So I exchanged it for a new one and this on while water does go through to all of the nozzles I can not get one (i.e., rainfall shower head, horizontal jets, or handheld sprayer) to function on its own. If I turn it to the rainfall shower head nothing works. If I turn it partway between the rainfall shower head and the handheld sprayer both work, etc. So perhaps there is just a flaw with the mixing valve? I thought about replacing it again, but its a bit exhausting honestly.

There is NO BACK COVER, you can see hardware and hoses. If I knew that before I paid to have it installed I would of returned it. LOOKS HORRIBLE
