This simple block and tackle design allows you to lift objects with 1/6 the force. That makes it much easier to raise and lower objects. It almost seems like magic, but it's just physics. The working limits are not very high, so I would be careful to only use this with lighter objects, and to not allow any quick drops that could put sudden force on the ropes or the pulleys. I also recommend securing the load in place using something in addition to this, if you are leaving the load suspended for any period of time.

Used this to lift up a couple of kayaks we have in the garage. That worked well. It is light weight and easy enough to carry along for helping us get a snowmobile unstuck. Overall, it does work-heavier objects are easier to pull. Only annoying aspect is if the tension gets too slack, the line can fall off the wheel. It gets frustrating if there is no one around to help-lots of running back and forth.

I’m using this to help lift the small 20 foot tall mast of my sailboat, it appears to have fairly good construction and will probably work well for my purposes although the rope that is running through the pulley seems to be about an 1/8 inch thick, it does seem to be good rope with no stretch. I do think it’s more sturdy than what it looks and will suit my purposes. I added a US quarter and a US dollar bill in the picture for size comparison.

Larger than expected, I had a hoist similar, lost it in the war with my x, it had parachute cord and 5 x 2 pulley’sIt fit into a small bag with a 15 ft lift. Can’t seem to find it anywhere! So Sad.

Man, this was slick! It arrived pre-rigged, so I didn't have to figure out how to thread the multiple loops in the pulleys. There is plenty of rope included, so my 8' pull went off without a hitch as I hoisted my 100lb wreath to the ceiling. I was able to pull the rope bare-handed because of the reduction of weight with the multiple pulleys. The steel loops on the ends are strong and let me confidently complete this task without fear of them breaking. With the friction of my ropes sliding through the eye-bolts, and the weight of the wreath itself, the pulleys were probably lifting 150lbs without a problem.

This is a nice little light duty block and tackle system. It arrived in the box tangled. However, that wouldn't have mattered anyway since it was rigged incorrectly. For some reason, all low-cost block and tackle systems seem to ship rigged incorrectly. The photo with the white rope is the one that arrived. Note that the pull string is off to the far side of the pulley. To rig this correctly, make the bottom pulley perpendicular to the top one, and move the pull string to one of the center 2 positions on the top pulley. The photo with the orange rope is a different system but, one that's rigged correctly as an example.

My thoughts on this are mixed. I am satisfied with the steel pully's. They are soundly constructed and I don't fear them failing. However I will be replacing the rope that's provided with them. I got this for processing deer and I don't think the provided rope is up to the task so I am going to repurpose and replace it.
