Great for camping. Burns clean in the tent heater/stove, and it lasts through the night, but not for cooking

This coal is hard to light and keep lit but I have discovered a way to keep it lit easily. Just put kindling on it and then wood and light it. The wood gets the coal to burn but getting the coal to smelting heat requires bellows and sometimes and blower machine to help you but in a small stove to heat your room, a bellow will do. Note: burning coal in small amounts like in your stove or forge is safe and no one cares but in massive amounts like in a power plant, too much and bad for the environment. Just have proper ventilation or you will have serious problems.

I agree with most of the reviews. Very fast shipping, full box of coal. Lots of little pieces. Very difficult to get lit, and produces a substantial amount of smoke. All that said, the smaller pieces make it easier to light. Once lit, I get a good 6 to 8 hour burn in my little cubic mini stove. Which was my goal. I live at 10,000 feet in the Colorado mountains, and we often lose power leaving my only heat source as my little cubic mini. If I’m just burning wood, I have to feed it every half hour. This allows for a full night sleep! Overall, a 7.5 out of 10. I will be purchasing more coal, however, from a different outlet as this Coal is priced well above the average!

Very nice quality coal used in my son’s forge. Far superior quality to the coal ‘dust’ we had been using before.

Chunks could of been bigger. Being first time ordering maybe I didn't know which one to choose. Coal worked great. No complaints on quality.

Just recently got into smithing, currently I use a modified grill for my forge and I have been able to form, normalize and heat treat five knives and have use about 15 lbs of this coal. Definitely get plenty hot, melted off a few tips by accident.Last much longer than wood charcoal. It does smoke up a bit at first, my forge is uot doors so it is barely noticeable. You will have to pick out the glass like deposits it makes every do often.Below are a couple of my projects:
