This sander was so easy to use and made a recent project to sand and restain the wood poles on my patio so simple and even fun! Just a heads up, it comes with one sander sheet and that might not get you far. Home improvement stores sell packs of 15 sander sheets for a reason! I learned this the hard way about 15 mins into my project when I had to run to the store and get more sander sheets lol. Overall, the best $40 I’ve spent in a long time.

Best orbital for the price that you'll ever buy. This is my 4th one. I have a small woodworking shop and this suits our needs best, and we work them hard. The palm trigger makes it very comfortable to use and the vibration is minimal. They don't last forever but with some care it will last the average person a very long time. I highly recommend this product and I always buy a couple when they are on sale but also happy to pay full price for it.

I am traveling and have left all of my 5 sanders at home. I should know better, because I have family (kids) that always need things done around their house. I needed an orbital without breaking the bank and this one seemed to fit the bill, based on other reviews.I am more than mildly impressed with this sander. Inexpensive does not mean cheap. Sure, there's only one speed and no handles, but it is decidedly orbital and has a very reasonable dust collection bag. It feels solid in my palm; I have no issues handling the unit and it does the job very well. The Velcro face pad is rugged and firm and the sanding discs attach and remove easily. The unit is also small enough to fit in your hand without losing control of it. I started using it within 15 minutes of delivery and have already burnt through a half dozen discs; I got a box of them that range from 40 grit to 340. Using that super-fine 340 left me with a glossy surface on the piece I was working on. Almost hated to stain it.Excellent purchase, extremely satisfied with this sander.

This thing was pretty cool, as a female I was intimidated to use this but I did a little research and I was able to quickly sand the bottom exposed wood on my dining room chairs to remove a weird orange hue and stain them in a nice oak finish. Worked great!

I recently purchased a BLACK+DECKER 5" Random Orbital Sander to help with some of my woodworking projects around the house. I was a little apprehensive about using this tool because of its size, but I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use. . This grinder is powered by a corded 2.0 amp motor that delivers 12,000 OPM. This function quickly and easily removes paint, stains and varnish from wood, metal and plastic surfaces. It is also great for surface preparation and shaping wood for finishing projects. I've found that random orbital action gives a swirl-free finish every time, making my projects look professional. One thing I appreciate about this sander is the built-in dust bag. It helps keep my workspace clean and organized so I don't waste time cleaning up after I'm done. In addition, the comfortable handle reduces fatigue and improves control, allowing me to comfortably use this tool for longer periods of time. Overall, I am very pleased with my purchase of the BLACK+DECKER 5" Random Orbital Sander. It is a high quality tool that delivers great results every time. If you're looking for an affordable and easy-to-use grinder, this one is definitely worth picking up.

ORDERED = 09/20/2016 || SELLER = Amazon.com LLC || PAID = $26.99(Beware of Seller changes! That's when you may get burned!):: PROS ::1.) Ultra-Compact, efficient design, fits back in the box it comes with!2.) GOOD JOB sanding with little slow down, save tons of time.3.) I will NEVER use a sanding block again!4.) The pad it comes with worked ALL day, still has grit for another project.5.) Catches most of the dust, not ALL of it though.:: CONS ::1.) A bag to carry it in would of been nice, even a cheap plastic drawstring bag.2.) Dust escapes the unit, but it's not a deal breaker.3.) Motor sparks along the communtator shaft, not sure how this will effect it.4.) Smells a little like "Burning" electric the first few uses.:: OVERALL :: Just buy it, it's cheap, a good value and SAVES you a TON of work! You will never hand sand again! (Of course if GRAIN is an issue this won't help, the rotary motion is not a finishing sander, but for everything else its a GREAT VALUE!!!

This is my first sander, I write as a novice DIYer. I bought this because I wanted to refinish some wood furniture - dining room table/chairs, dresser, end table - & it made more sense to invest in a sander rather than rent one from home depot (25/full day). I also bought a large pkg of sandpaper from Amazon. Was more cost effective. So far, so good! I've made it thru the table and chairs with no issues.PROS: I run the sander typically for 1.5-2 hrs at a time. No overheating. The size is perfect for small jobs. It was smaller and lighter than I expected, but that works to my advantage because I don't have a lot of large surfaces, so any bigger and it'd be excessive.CONS: I've read that the bag attachment is supposed to catch the dust? That's not the case. There is plenty of dust - I bought a face mask and sand outside. I wasn't expecting the experience to be mess free so this doesn't bother me.I am bummed the electric chord isn't longer. I have to have an extension chord in order to operate comfortably.Because it's light, I do have to press down a fair amount after I've used the sandpaper for awhile (~8 minutes, 100 grit). Depending on my posture, this can get tiring.Overall, a very positive experience! It's cheap enough that if I decide there are features I'd like to have later, I can upgrade without losing out on what I spent on this. Definitely splurge on a large pkg of sandpaper! Way more cost effective.
