The sander has plenty of power and I refinish furniture. Picked this one for size and ease of use and it did not disappoint. Didn’t need another big sander and this one fit the job. I’m actually going to use it for a cabinet refinishing project soon as well

The sander is excellent and simple (although the dust collector is not of much use).The finger attachment broke and customer service sent me a new product asap. Don’t think I’ll use that finger feature again, but in normal mode, this is an excellent, reasonably priced unit.

La herramienta cumple con creces su función, aunque no creo que se pueda usar como una herramienta profesional, es mas bien para trabajos en casa. ya que las lijas pierden rápidamente la adherencia al aparato por el velcro y el polvo que se acumula. Pero para hacer trabajos en casa es excelente. la recomiendo para trabajos en casa.

This is my third B&D “mouse” sander, they all were easy to hold, aim and control, and do the jobs I need really well. When you refinish doors, moldings, etc you want a larger sander to cover a lot of area, but for a slightly uneven deck with boards convexed or concaved you need a sander that can follow the contour of the wood and the mouse does that really well. Yes there are more expensive detail sanders out there, but the B&D ones give the best product for the buck. The grip is soft foam and when used with cloth work gloves sufficiently dampens vibration that my carpal tunnels don’t bother me. Using 60-120 grit paper and light pressure, I only need to go over a spot 5-10 x to reach bare wood thru 4 costs of Olympic semi transparent stain. Now a mouse only lasts me about 5 years for about 3-500 hours of sanding, but a heavy metal competitors sander would never allow me to hold it up over my head to do railing spindles and arbors because they are too heavy yo keep working hour after hour. When they finally fail, I assume the brushes wear out, because you need to shake the unit you try to start it and in some orientations it will not start. In older units the long finger attachment was flush to the rest of the sanding bed, but on the newest one the finger is raised perhaps 3/16” higher, this is a bad thing from my standpoint because you need to be taking the finger on and off to complete a job. The Velcro sanding pads hold the paper well and make for a. Quick, no tools style of change. I find the new units slide switch difficult to turn on and off with dusty gloves on, the older style push button/rocker switches were easier to use but we’re located in a poor place at the extreme front of the housing where it was likely to get bumped when you tried to sand railing spindles. The newer location on the handle is better for resisting accidental shot offs. If there were one improvement I’d like to see in the next design, it would be a sander that is flatter to the sandpaper so I can reach farther between railing spokes and in tight spaces without being constrained by the handle.

I purchased this sander to help with redoing my deck. I own another orbital sander with a sheet lock and I hated it, the sheets kept on tearing off and not staying on and I would go thru a lot of torn sandpaper and very slow sanding progress. So I got fed up and was looking for an alternative sandpaper attachment to sand my deck. I chose this black and decker mouse sander because it had a finger attachment which could get between the poles of the deck and into tight places, but I primarily purchased it for the velcro attachment for the sandpaper. I also purchased it because the price was very reasonable. I would have to say, I am very pleased with how well the sandpaper stays in place withe the velcro attachment, it's like day and night from the stupid metal sheet lock on the other sander I own. It was so easy and had enough power to sand my deck, I was very pleased with this little sander. The reason I only give this sander 4 stars is about halfway thru the deck project the velcro on the finger attachment wore down and sandpaper would no longer stay on. I went to ACE Hardware & Lowe's to see if they sold extra finger attachments but they did not, so a word of advice if you are going to be doing a big project with this sander, purchase an extra finger attachment so you aren't delayed with your project & you might as well order extra sandpaper because I ended up purchasing both to finish my deck.Overall, I would purchase this sander again, I would never ever purchase a sander with a metal sheet lock, worse design ever!
