This review is for the Black and Decker Crisp ‘N Bake Toaster Oven. I received a free taxable sample of this air fryer and toaster oven combination in my search for a multi-purpose toaster oven with air fryer capabilities. The toaster oven comes as a set of five components: main toaster oven; crumb tray; bake pan; wire rack; and air fry mesh basket. The main toaster oven body is fairly lightweight and compact at 10.4 pounds and measuring 18” wide x 12 ½” deep x 10” tall with an additional 1” in height for the curved plastic feet that it rests upon. The 11 ½” x 1 ⅞” handle on the front of the glass door helps the door swing freely down and can be left in an open position to facilitate one-handed operation. The front right of the toaster oven has capacitive buttons that when powered on allow the selection of one of eight modes: bake; convection bake; air fry; broil; toast; warm; pizza; bagel; and reheat. Below the buttons is a digital display showing what heating elements are in use as well as the selected time or temperature. A 1 ½” diameter knob below the display can be pressed and rotated to select and set time and temperature, and a start and stop button initiates or stops the operation of the toaster oven. The usable interior of the oven measures 12” across x 10” deep x 6” high with grooves for three levels. Depending on the mode selected, one or more of the wire rack (200 grams, 12 ¾” x 11 ½”), bake pan (208 grams, 10 ⅞” x 8 ⅞” x ⅞”), or mesh basket (231 grams, inside basket area is 11” x 9 ⅛” x 1”) will be used. There are five heating elements in the toaster oven: two on top (quartz rods) and three on the bottom (two quartz rods and one metal rod). Overall quality and workmanship are good with no manufacturing defects or visible issues. The toaster oven as tested performed quite nicely as it heated quickly and evenly, and I like that the digital controls allowed me to precisely set the temperature and time versus more mechanical options. My most used mode has been the air fry mode, and I found that the actual cooking times in most cases were shorter than what was suggested in the manual or manufacturer’s instructions. I was able to air fry frozen chicken nuggets in six minutes, flipping over only once at four minutes versus the 13-16 minutes that the manual and manufacturer recommended. Pizza mode was interesting and seemed to work okay, and there were no issues with the standard toast, bake, and convection bake modes that I also used a lot of. Overall noise levels as well as care and maintenance have been acceptable and fairly easy. I like that the wire rack and mesh basket are dishwasher safe and have been occasionally running them through the dishwasher with no issues. All in all, this is a good quality toaster oven with air fryer capabilities that heats up quickly and cooks fairly evenly. I recommend this as a good air frying, baking, and toasting option when dealing with food quantities that don’t require a full-sized oven.

The selection printout is so small and dim that I could not read it. Tried to find a picture so that I could copy the selections down and that wasn't possible. Even back online and enlarging the illustration didn't work as it was blurry. The temperature and time were easily read and bright. Instructions were easy to follow and thorough.

It's my first personal toaster oven, and a little more advanced version compared to the one we had back home. It's really efficient, heats up fast, the fan isn't too loud. I like the size, takes some space but that's the sacrifice I'm willing to make. Easy to work with but definitely need some time to get familiar with its heating ability. I have burnt few bread and bagels but now I can make perfect yellow toast. I'm still in my experimenting area but so far I'm satisfied!

This oven made perfect toast quickly. It heats up fast and gets the job done! It does get very warm on the outside while cooking but not hot enough to cause burns. The quality is consistent with the price and the size doesn’t hog counter space. In all, I am very satisfied with the looks and ability to toast, bake and broil. I will not be using the air fry option because I don’t like how greasy air-fryer ovens look after a short while. There’s no inside light but it isn’t necessary because of the big glass door. I easily see inside while cooking. I will be buying another one for my son to replace his expensive name-brand oven that started smoking after two years of use like it was about to catch fire…..and no, there was no grease buildup inside. The smoke was coming from within the walls. Very happy.

Previously I had several low-end B&D Toater ovens that each lasted a couple of years in daily use. Acceptable quality and super-simple electro-mechanical devices. As the most recent one was on its last legs I decided to upgrade a few notches. This is tricky in my tiny casita - as the circuitry is very limited for wattage! This unit is spec'd at 750 watts, yet has FIVE quartz heating elements! AND true convection baking, AND presets for things like pizza, stay-warm, re-heat, bagel, broil etc. AND it's huge, AND it's digitally controlled with a only slightly challenging interface. If it lasts, it will be a real value!
