I guess I was naïve to think this 40-watt leaf blower would be the same as the B &D 40 watt one I'm replacing. The old model had six power settings, with the high being able to do serious work. The new model has one setting, and it's fairly weak. The old model had a 24-inch tube, while the new one has an 18-inch tube, meaning unless you are short, you will have to stoop to move any debris. The old model would run for 20 minutes or more nonstop, while this model has less run time. On the plus side, the new model is very light weight, similar to a child's toy. I have several B&D battery tools and like all of them, but I'm less fond of this one. Perhaps others may enjoy this particular tool more than I do.

Had the same model for 10 years. Worked wonderful. Got a little shabby so decided to buy a new one. Hope this one lasts as long.

Bought it to sweep the 4 car driveway. It is so lightweight, a child can use it. It has a good battery, which comes with a small charger(smaller than one that came with the trimmer, but charge time is not significantly longer). Battery and charger both interchangeable with other B&D products- weed trimmer, drill.It is not as powerful as the gas trimmer(which is to be expected), it's also not as powerful as Milwaukee sweeper(Milwaukee comes with much smaller battery though). It does a decent job sweeping the driveway, including mountain of maple leaves and small branch pieces, but it takes a little time. I had some leftover gravel in the pile, and it would move the little rocks as well.You have to hold it at the right angle, to have it work most efficiently.Great for keeping driveway clean. Especially for anybody with joint or muscle problems.

Es una buena opción para limpiar hijas de superficies como garage y banquetas, la batería de 40V, dura mucho más que las de 20V. Buena opción, precio algo alto pero con el respaldo de la marca B&D y se pueden conseguir baterías de reemplazo, en marcas raras es muy difícil y caro. La potencia no llega a una con cable, pero para mis necesidades si funciona.

Love my new battery powered sweeper! I originally bought it to blow grass clippings, bits of mulch and other plant debris off a stone walkway that has grass between the stones and cannot be swept with a broom. I soon found a lot of other uses for my air-powered sweeper, as we have 2 covered porches and a patio which I can now clean up in a snap. And then there is the garage —- without moving objects (I do pull my cars out), I can do a quick floor cleanup in a short period of time (without moving objects it only gets about 90% clean, but hey, it is a garage, and otherwise I would not take the time to do it at all, so it would remain 100% filthy!).Yes, it only has about a 30 minute life, but in that 30 minutes I get as much done as I would in probably 2 hours if I was hand sweeping, so 30 minutes is plenty. And it is so lightweight that it does not tire me out. As mentioned in other reviews, this tool is not meant to blow leaves off a lawn, but it is a wonderful addition that is making my life so much easier, especially as we live in a dry environment with breezes that blow a lot of debris around.Practically speaking, the battery takes a few hours to recharge, and given that it will wear out in 30 minutes of use, I remove the battery after each use and recharge so it is always ready to go when I am. But this is a small (tiny) inconvenience as compared to managing cords, messing with gas, or hand sweeping. I really love this new tool (and I am not one who wants to own, maintain, or store a lot of tools) and love seeing the results. I heartily recommend it as an easy-to-use sweeper for all outdoor hard surfaces!

Works as expected and battery last long enough to finish what I need. Not as powerful as gas blowers I have used in the past but ideal for small jobs.

This isn't a commercial use blower, but for everyday "sweeping" off the porches, blowing off the deck, cleaning around the yard.. it is outstanding. I got this mainly because I have the matching string trimmer and wanted to keep the same battery and it was one of the lighter blowers I could find and thought it would be easier for my wife to use. It works great, has long battery life, and blows harder than I though it would. I use it almost everyday because it is so light and easy, i started cleaning my porches off every morning and this has cut down immensely on the mount of vacuuming i have to do in the house. If you have a giant yard or have a lot of wet leaves, it probably isn't for you, but if you need a great substitute for a broom, this is the best i have had.
