I have other tools in this line , circular saw, drill , reciprocating saw and weed eater so I purchased this jig saw as I can use multiple tools on the same batteries. Bought it for cutting some laminate flooring, works great!

Very nice simple jigsaw. I have a nice older corded Skil jigsaw, but wanted something that didn't have a power cord (something I am fully capable of sawing off). I was impressed with the amount of power this has and I didn't feel I was losing power with this battery-operated B&D jigsaw vs. AC jigsaw. Very heavy feel (in a good way), even without the battery.I bought mine "Used - Very Good" and couldn't tell it wasn't new except it had a used blade on it. It's not supposed to, but mine came with a 20v battery & charger, which sells for more than what I paid for the jigsaw. Even without a battery & charger (description kuh-LEAR-ly says are "not included" and "tool only"), at less than $40 it's a great deal. The beveled shoe is handy, too.One minor con for this is that the guide for lining up the cut is a couple inches away from the blade, which makes accurately cutting on a line more difficult. I taped a piece of cereal box cardboard with a straight line on it it in front of the guide closer to the blade (see pic), which helps me a lot. ®®®Patent pending!®®®If you're in doubt, lean in the direction of getting one, especially if you're like I am and have a half dozen other B&D 20V tools and batteries.•••I wasn't at all bribed to write a positive review, but if B&D is listening I would totally sell out for free merch.•••

Compré el BDCJS20B y lo regresé porque no incluye la bateria... lo cambié por el BDCJS20C que si la incluye y es una "CHULADA"... Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

I love this tool. I actually have a ton of Back and Decker 20V tools and this was my most recent purchase. So far I've used it only to cut a hole in a door for a return air pathway but it performed admirably. The fact that it is cordless really ends up being nice. I'm sure if I were a contractor cutting things all day I'd prefer A/C power but for the weekend warrior who only occasionally uses it, the flexibility to take it anywhere easily is so worth it. Great tool. Super easy to change blades too.At this point I have so many 20V tools (both power tools and yard tools) that I am entrenched in the brand. So nice to have interchangeable batteries for everything. I don't think there's anything special about Black and Decker, though. If I had gone with a different brand, like Ryobi, I'm sure I would be just as happy.

If you're looking for a powerhouse cutting tool, this probably isn't for you. My five star review is based on the value for the price. I needed a basic jigsaw for small cutting projects. Cutting engineered vinyl flooring and cutting wall boards. The saw was more than adequate for each job and with a careful hand, made consistently clean cuts. Battery life was as expected. You probably get 15 minutes of continuous cutting time. Granted, you're not going to be holding the trigger for 15 straight minutes. On the flooring project, we needed to swap batteries every 40 minutes or so. Saw has a good solid feel to it and is a good addition to any collection of B&D 20v cordless tools.

Seems to have a lot of power for a DIY grade tool. I bought a bunch of B&D 20V lithium tools a few years back. While they are not as powerful as a contractor grade tool they get the job done for a good price. I have 6 other tools and 7 batteries and 2 quick chargers, so I never run out of charge. This unit is supplied WITHOUT a battery or charger, you must provide your own.I was surprised at the hefty weight of this tool, I don't know if it's any indication of the tools quality. I put a battery into it and used it to cut up a few pieces of plywood. It had good power. I's certainly easier to use than a corded tool, if you really need the power then skip this and buy a corded tool. Being cordless sure is nice when in tight quarters or on a roof or attic. The only issue I have is that the foot plate must be loosened with a hex key (provided) in order to make angled cuts. A lever would be nicer. This uses the Bosch style blades instead of the more common straight ones. It will mount the blade without tools, which is nice. I have a bunch of the "other" style blades so I'll have to buy some for this tool.
