These are brand new fresh hard-to-find original old style nylon ribbons designed for use on most Remington and Underwood Noiseless typewriters. Designed for the Portable Machines: Remington / Underwood Noiseless Portable (1930s -1940s) Remington Rand Model 1 and 9 Remington Quiet Model 1 Remington Quiet-Riter (1950s -1960s) Standard (Office size): Remington and Underwood Noiseless Standard (1920s onwards) Remington Standard (late1930s) Remington Model 17 Remington Electric Ribbons from FJA include a decal/sticker that states: "If your Remington has a larger spindle/center hole, please "PUSH"the removable center core out of the spools" If the decal is not on the spool, I am sorry. When they leave here and go to Amazon they all have decals. The good news is that you can use the backside of a pencil, or a small screwdriver and firmly push the center core out of the ribbon and you will be able to place it onto the Remington spindle. My 87 year-old dad still uses his 1953 Remington typewriter to give politicians and automotive CEOs a piece of his mind. The new ribbon was easy for him to install, and he's back to snail-mailing in ALL CAPS

Fits perfect for both of my typewriters: Remington Standard/Super-Riter and Remington Quiet-Riter. Color of type is nice and dark; installation was a cinch; advancement is natural and straight. Couldn't ask for more.

As stated in the description of the product, it is not a direct replacement for the remington portable modle 1 typewriter. I re-spooled the original spools with this ink ribbon. This ribbon is the perfect size for my typewriter. Will buy again when I need a new ribbon!

Thanks so much! I had to painstakingly spin the ribbon onto the original dispenser because nothing else would fit my Remington Rand. But this one has a center that just pops out and fits perfectly! Easiest installation I could’ve asked for and the ink is sharp and dark. Already ordered a couple more of the same brand for my smith coronas.
