This is a very well made instrument and reminds me a lot of the melodica in the music shop I coveted for years before I took up saxophone. It is well-made and has a little heft to it so it feels more like an instrument than a toy.Tone-wise, it is in key pretty well and with consistent breathing delivers a nice tone. the ability to use the hose and set the keyboard down is awesome because it is a serious skill to be able to play piano in front of your face. Either blowing direct or through the tube, understand that it takes a lot of lung effort and control to play consistently. The key action has a good spring to it for such a little keyboard. This is a great old school wind instrument addition to my music arsenal that I will record and tweak and render into something else. And for the price, it's a steal.

Our daughter is a piano player, and she was able to pick this up and play right out of the box. She does have to use the longer tube mouthpiece, as the orientation of the keyboard using the short mouthpiece is for a right-handed person (she is a lefty). The instrument sounds great and has been an excellent additional creative outlet for her.

This is a great-sounding instrument, and it plays as well as some of the higher-end name brand melodicas I've tried. The reeds are tuned nicely, and the key action is very responsive. For the budget price, I have no qualms at all recommending these as a fantastic way to get into the melodica. The little gig bag isn't especially padded, but that's a minor issue when you have an instrument this ready for action at a fraction of the price of most pro melodicas.Whether you're already into free reed instruments like the accordion or harmonica, or you play other instruments and just want to add a new sound to your palette, you won't be disappointed!
