Good idea, it looked fairly well made but only lasted 4 weeks before breaking, 2 days after return window closed!

This is one of the most efficacious, and durable protective decoys I’ve ever seen. I haven’t seen any birds, hawks, owls, or any other type of bird since installing this truly brilliant device. Buy it, you’ll be grateful beyond all measure later on.

This faded to blue in the sun. Stellar jays and crows think it’s a buddy. Don’t waste your $

I bought this to keep birds off the sailboat. After a weeks time I would return to the boat and see a piece of bird dropping every 3 inches on the deck of the sailboat the birds would sit in the rigging and do their business all over the deck. I hung this 1/2 way up the rigging and when I return the next week I saw maybe on piece of bird stuff on the boat. I have been using it for 6 months know with great results. I have it tied between two line that make is looks like it is flying mid way up the mast about 40 ft above the water. Unfortunately on the coast of North Carolina they take a beating. The plastic pieces that support the wings beak in the week and the wings tear. I am going to try replacing the plastic with aluminum piece hopefully to get more life out of them. NOT even damage they continue to work and keep the birds off the boat.

I’ve repaired this windsock twice. BUT it has help deter pigeons from utilizing the horse waterer as a bathtub when it’s in use.NOT for a high wind area! It will be popped off the pole mount.

Works not bad if you move it from place to place. has been on a pole for months. works really well in wind and is still in tact.

OK, first, the rivet that holds the wing together broke apart when I extended the wing. No big deal, I'm very handy and used a small bolt and nut to hold it together. But the other wing would not stay extended either with the rivet that did hold. Two bolts later, the wings are fully extended and the owl looked pretty decent, scared the kids as I used a fishing line to hang from a tree branch. Well, they turned out to be the only ones afraid of the owl as squirrels, chipmunks and every bird in the neighborhood dined on all the fruits, berries and flowers in my tiny little back yard! I mean, if you like owls this is pretty neat with some tinkering but if you want it to scare something this just doesn't work... Maybe it's the 100th monkey scenario happening where critters aren't afraid of these types of deterrents any longer, who knows. My neighbor bought the equivalent of this in a motion activated hooting statue, looks the same, bought here, and I took a picture of a Robin that landed right next to it, owl moved and the bird still pecked through the newly wet grass seed patch to find worms, it was comical.

One day we saw a kettle of hawks flying around and gathering in the trees in our front yard. We had recently lost a beloved dog to a swarm of bees. We were still heartbroken and wary of any threats to our pets, so we bought these. We have always had crows gather on the electric lines and trees around the house, as well as blue jays and cardinals, over the 30+ years we have lived in the house, but since we hung these in the trees in our back yard all the birds, including the hawks, are gone. The loss of all the pretty birds was an unintended consequence but our little dog, that only weighs about 10lbs and hangs on the back patio, is safe and sound so...we're keeping these in the trees. We hang them from low branches in 2 trees in the yard and they move a lot when the wind blows. We also move them every once and while and I read that if you don't move them that they don't work, so I would suggest hanging them so they move with the breeze. When our adult daughter first saw them, when she was here on a visit, she yelled because she thought they were real so they do look convincing from a distance.

This is a joke at best. If you want something to laugh at go for it if you want an actual deterrent forget it. I've found the sonic ones are much much more effective.

I feed feral cats on my front porch with an auto dry food feeder and I had all types of birds, from Magpies to sparrows, all gathering around eating the cat food and pooing all over my front porch. I tried numerous things to prevent these birds from coming around and this is the only thing I have found that really works. It is not real pretty but what an awesome help this has been. I didn't have anything invisible to hang it with so I just used some yarn, but it has kept all the birds away. No more waking up to Magpies screaming at each other while fighting over the cat food. No more bird poo all over my front porch. This repels birds in the best and SAFEST way I know. I think hanging it is probably the key to getting this to work. It gently swings and turns in any breeze and that scares the birds. I don't think mounting it would work so good because it can't move too much that way. I highly recommend this item. I have had it up all year with no problems and the birds never seem to get used to it because they all left the second I put it up and none have returned sense. I hope it makes it through our harsh winter here but if it doesn't, I will buy another one because that's how great this works! And NO I don't work for this company.
