BioGuard Kleen It Filter Cleaner is designed to remove scale deposits, dirt, and debris from the swimming pool's filter. This product is comprised of a dual action formula that can prolong the life of your filter. It helps prevent scale build up and rust. The experts recommend that this product should be used at least once per season to keep the filter clean. Kleen It has been proven to not damage the filter equipment and to be safe for all filter types. Directions Non Back-Washable D.E. & Cartridge Filters: Turn pump off and rinse off loose dirt from filter elements. Apply product by spraying directly onto filter elements. If needed, lightly brush heavy grease spots. Let wet filter elements sit for 5-10 minutes. For heavily soiled filters, allow elements to sit for 1 hour. Rinse elements thoroughly with full-strength water from a garden hose. Reassemble filter and resume normal operation. As an alternative soak filter elements overnight into a solution of 32 oz. of this product added to 5 gallons of water. Allow to soak overnight. Rinse elements thoroughly with full-strength water from a garden hose. Sand Filter & Some D.E. Filters: Twice each pool season, mid-summer, and in the fall, clean the pool filter as follows: Backwash filter thoroughly. Turn pump off. Chlorine must be removed from the skimmer basket prior to addition of this product. Automatic feeder should be turned off prior to any addition of this product. Pour entire bottle of this product into skimmer. Turn pump on until pump primes and product moves into filter. Leave filter selector in backwash position or in closed position. Wait one hour. Turn pump on with selector in backwash position, until backwash water is clear. *Please Note: Packaging Update. BioGuard is no longer shipping Kleen-It with the trigger nozzle.

Photo shows cleaning solution in spray bottles but sprayer(s) are not included. It’s misleading they’re not included and not mentioned.Cleaner works very well but it’s kind of a pain in the ass to to find sprayer and then transfer to a different bottle.

I saw this on a Youtube video and decided to give it a try. My filter manufacturere said I could get about 2000 hours of use out of my filter, and at about 1000 a year, I wanted it clean before putting it away for winter. I followed the directions: Clean it. I use an "Aquatix Pro Premium Pool & Spa Filter Cartridge Cleaner." It gets deep into the grooves. I plugged off the filter so it would hold water, put the filter in, added an entire bottle of BioGuard Kleen It Filter Cleaner and topped it off with water. Let it sit overnight. Clean it again. Let it dry thoroughly before storing.

Product cleans pool filter effectively. Rating is lower than it would be otherwise because both spray nozzles were damaged in shipping. One was shattered and the other had the top of the bottle severely bent. I needed to use the product immediately, so I just substituted a good nozzle from one of my car care products.

Did a good job of cleaning filter when disassembled. The plastic bottles are shipped without protection. There is a very strong tape which keeps the sprayer top from leaking, but the bottles are crushed on top (perhaps from its case of bottles being staked under too much weight before sale.) The deformed bottles do work; the tape is very difficult to remove

This worked very well we were having trouble getting the filter cleaned due to iron in the water and we used the cleaner on the filter twice it was so simple to we just sprayed it and left it for about 30 minutes then sprayed it off
