Not a fan. I got this to cut and put in the floor vents and ceiling vents to prevent dust from coming in. We have a gas furnace and gas is just not as clean as electric furnaces. As a result I'm constantly having to dust so I thought this would be great. Not so much. It is thin but not thin enough that it actually hinders the flow of heat or cold air so the room doesn't warm up or cool down. REALLY disappointed because I wanted something that would prevent the dust from the burning gas but not prevent heat from coming in. I'll stick dryer sheets. they work great in keeping dust out but allowing for good air flow the same as if nothing was there.

A muffin fan rated at 55CFM can’t blow air through the filter material. A huge waste of of money. Know what you are buying because the description does not tell the air flow using low pressure fans.

The pelican was the right choice, much usefulness but not too much of the kitchen sink!

One reviewer is concerned that theirs came in a package marked N95 and not MERV 16. Mine says MERV 16 and nowhere is N95 mentioned but I looked up the micron ratings for both. MERV 16 has a micron rating of 0.30-1.0 greater than or equal to 95% & N95 respirators have filtration efficiencies for particle size (0.1 to 0.3 micron), of at least 95% efficient at that size. If he actually did get N95 material it's a slight upgrade to MERV 16! Either way I'm happy with my purchase. I'm building a portable positive pressure clean room using a 10x7x7 greenhouse ($75 on Amazon!) sealed to a 12x8 heavy duty tarp and for the positive pressure I'm using 2 HEPA air cleaners with medical grade filters on the outside and rigged to a 1000 CFM air blower on the inside with 4" aluminum duct work. I replaced the broken fan in 1 of them with a 325 CFM inline fan. Both of the HEPA units have modified output directly into a 4" Y connector and their combined output from outside the tent goes through a 4" semi rigid aluminum dryer vent hose to a T connector hooked to both intakes on the sides of the blower. So the combined purified air is basically sucked in through the ductwork and through the blower into the lab inflating it and giving positive pressure meaning when I unzip the door a blast of pure air comes out and it reinflates after I zip it shut. This is lab #4 for me. Inside the big tent I'll have a 6'x6'x6' small one with a fat Laminar flow HEPA filter to do my tissue culture work in. The point is I need the purest of air and I think using this MERV 16 fabric as a pre-filter for my external HEPA filters is going make a world of difference for the lifespan of the system. The truth is I worked in a clean room before and the technician explained that the more junk that collects on the outside of the HEPA filters is the better they filter because the dirt acts like a pre filter and that's why professional cleanrooms never change their filters. The 1000 CFM blower is to negate the loss of output usually caused by the filters in the home HEPA units. Those I won't even need to turn on but probably will for that little extra boost. These MERV 16 filters combined with the HEPA's and a few negative ionizing units I'm splicing into the ductwork means I don't have to worry about contaminants destroying $1000's worth of liquid mushroom cultures anymore. In the past people would step into my lab and not want to leave. Suddenly their allergies were gone. So this long winded customer is satisfied with the price, potential and quality of this product.

I'm writing this for informational purposes. The quality of the material is hi. However the practicality of the material is very low for the average household as many people go looking for this material to make personal filters for their air vents as many apartment complexes have shared air and many people smoke cigarettes, marijuana and other things which none of us want to breathe . However, the level 16 rating means that it restricts air flow more than other filters. However the filter quality is very very high. There is in fact a nano layer which I have found via dissection, and then a more coarse layer that is designed for only stopping larger particles. This is a two layer sheet that is bound together via interweaving. It's actually a very good product. However most people here believe that it's supposed to be breathable as a lower level eight or five.

Excellent for cutting to size filters to decrease/eliminate fine dust being blown into the air near the vacuum. This is actually an issue with most vacuums; not good for breathing or maintaining a good indoor air quality. Specially for stick vacuums (in my case featherlight model by Bissell) that offer the advantage of reusable affordable filters, compact size and excellent functionality, what they come with do not filter everything or better said do not offer sealed vacuuming. The exhaust air ejects some of the fine particles out with it.By layering a cut to size filter from this sheet behind the existing filter, you literally eliminate most if not all if it. In this way, I was happy to keep my existing vacuums without having to invest in bigger, bulkier, expensive units that require frequent filter change to offer sealed vacuuming. I confirmed this using an air quality detector that particles do not get into the air from the exhaust air vs. without. The only complaint is that the sheet has a back and front side. When cutting, they can come apart at least partially. It still holds together fine.

It arrived a week ahead of the shipping estimate and is clearly a high quality product. It's a little hard to get the rounded curve out of it, since it was rolled up. Otherwise it's exactly as advertised.

Works great! Good thickness & just stiff enough that it holds its shape and doesn’t get bunched up inside the mask’s pocket. Cutting this into the right size for “your mask and face” is helpful in its effectiveness and comfort. I had to cut a few different sizes before I found the perfect fit for my face shape/size. I had to cut a different size for other family members to fit their face shape/size. For me, this product works great. Thank you :-)

On the original order, the filter was not clean so returned and reordered. Now on the second order, it looks clean and good.Original review(First order)Very disappointed. I ordered this filter because it is made in usa and have good reviews. After receiving, I found some unknown black speck of dirt and small black hair or fiber on the roll inside of unopened sealed plastic bag.I wonder in what condition they are made. This is not cheap and for mask so it should be clean and not comes with dirt or hair.Hopefully this is an isolated incident so I just returned it and reordered. Will see what in the next roll.
