Great upgrade antenna for CB or Scanner Radios. Increased my reception distance by 50 miles. I have bought a few of these for all my vehicles, RV, and even at home. Works great with a Uniden Bearcat SDS100 digital mobile scanner. Just needs the bnc adapter. Worth the price though.

This antenna is decent for the price at $9.99. It’s not the best, but definitely not the worst either. The biggest issue I had is with the magnetic base—it’s not very strong. When I placed it on the top of my car, it kept flying off or sliding on the side of the window, which was frustrating. (Yes my car is magnetic)However, once I mounted it on the roof of my house (second floor), it worked great! The reception is much better compared to the stock antennas that come with most Uniden scanners. For the price, it’s a solid upgrade for indoor or stationary use, but it’s not ideal for vehicles.

I was skeptical at first, but I knew my scanner was not picking up half of the radio traffic, particularly on the air band, that I should given I was only a couple of kilometers from the local airport. So plugged this in and placed it in my house in the same location as I had the handheld stock antenna - and what a difference!Started getting a lot more ground traffic and further away radio communication not near the airport at all!Trying it with other bands, such as 800 and 900Mhz ranges, also saw marked improvement in reception, on my SDS100.Overall - a great antenna, and because its magnetic, you can take it with you in the car for even better reception on the road!

I did buy this antenna for use on a vehicle in December 2020. It stayed in the package till June 2023 when a new build was finally here. The magnet alone does stick well. But not enough for my personal needs. So I added automotive tape to the base of it. And its been fantastic. The pick up for it has been great! However, the base of the neck where it screws on to the base cracked in half and let go of the wires internally. It almost looks like a mould defect. But The crack led to the the entire thing coming apart in the end. So, sadly its no good anymore. And I'm on the hunt for a new one, hopefully one without white metal.

I was actually kind of surprised with how much of a difference it made in reception, it can come off with wind as the magnet isn’t very strong, as other reviews have said, but I had fairly good luck on the highway with it only coming off on me once.

I decided I needed a better antenna than the one thst came on my Uniden Bearcat scanner. This one wasnt expensive, had good reviews, and brings it in stronger and clearer. Of course, Id probably get further away if I had big one on my roof... but I get around 50 m radius (rural area) with this, and less static and hard to hear calls. As some pointrd out, the magnet isnt too stong, but thats not a big deal.

Checked with a NanoVNA after installed on my car. At 2m the SWR was an acceptable 1.6 but on 70cm it was up to 3.7. I only use it for 2m so it hasn't been a problem but shouldn't be advertised as dual band. Also the magnet SUCKS! It's easy enough to peel off the base and put in a neodymium magnet instead so I'm not sure why they didn't spend the extra $0.07 to just use one from the factory.

I thought that the antenna was bigger from the pic. It’s small but much to my surprise, picks up signals really well. I am impressed.Definitely worth it. To me, there is nothing magnetic about the base. Will not attach to metal. Don’t try. The 3M adhesive coin that comes with the product is fine. Nice long BNC cord.

So it’s a piece of metal with a cable so therefore it will work as a scanner antenna. However, it’s magnet is so pathetically weak that it does nothing. I ended up using double sided tape to adhere it to my roof. After one winter the antenna whip got stuck to the base and I could not unscrew it. It came loose inside the plastic housing and the whole assembly came apart. It went into the garbage right after that. Once again, a piece of metal will work for an antenna. What you are paying money for is design and usability and magnet mount convenience. You get none of those things with this antenna. Don’t waste your money!
