It can be folded when not in use to a little more than one third of its full length. Reception seems good and any limitations are because of the radio not the antenna. A good value.

I love it! It works very very nicely! I am in the basement a lot on GMRS and transmitting from there is near impossible until I coupled this antenna with my 10watt radio, my AR-5RM. Also my 7-8watt UV-5G Plus works great with it too. The antenna has 3.8db gain so that is great! And it can handle up to 10watts. I havn't seen it on an SWR meter yet though, but I think it has a nice low SWR. It nearly outperforms my Nagoya NA-F30G tactical antenna which has 3.5db gain. So that's saying something!

This does add range to your radio. It is somewhat bulky, but when you are in the sticks, it helps with the noise level and how far you can talk.

I purchased these because signal was too weak to reach to my daughters house. After installing them, I got perfect quality reception. The distance is a heavily populated 1.4 miles. Definitely worth the extra cost, despite the antennae being cartoonishly long. =)

One works but seems center pin is a lil large as I have to apply slight pressure to get a good signal. When it is working it is deff better than the rubber ducky that comes in box and outperforms the na-771 chinese clone.I bought a 2 pack, review above is for first unit, second u it had no recieve or transmit. As you can see in picture the solder popped off, resoldered and works, 3 stars because they do intact work but I had to solder one of them due to bad qc.

This antenna is easy to unfold and fold back up and was a perfect fit for my handheld radio. Extends range very well.

This Antenna is foldable and somewhat directional if folded into a loop.Signal improves very well when extended to full length.The only drawback, when extended fully it feels heavier.I suspect the wider width gives it a broader bandwidth.This looks like a tough antenna.Wayne

I had to make a minor modification to the base of the antenna to get it to fit on my Baofeng UV-17 Pro Max, but compared to the antenna that came with the radio, this one gives me about 6 miles of range with obstructions, and approximately 15-20 miles line of sight. For an inexpensive antenna, I’m pleasantly surprised at its performance. 10/10 would buy again.

Quick shipping. Looks like great quality and fits perfectly. Haven’t really done any before and after comparisons but I’m sure it boosts the range considerably. Good to have for the price.
