This replaces your through-axle skewer, so it is easy to mount your bike into a wheel on a trainer. I had another type of skewer for this purpose, but it needed a box wrench to tighten it, and that was difficult to use with the dropouts on my bike. This uses an Allen head bolt and is easy to set up. It comes with many spacers to allow it to fit different widths. It is lightweight, so you could leave it as your skewer for riding outside.
