I laid my chain across 2 of the teeth and started turning the handle to push the rivet out and one of the little teeth broke (as indicated by my poorly drawn red arrow). Luckily there was a 2nd set of teeth to use and I was able to get the job done. Just be careful in how you place your chain is all I can recommend. This is definitely a Park Tool chain breaker tool. If I had it to purchase again, would definitely pay the extra money and get the Park one. The old adage applies here, you get what you pay for.

The chain separation tool works and is designed and made well. The pliers are ok and the chain wear tool is worthless and inaccurate. The first tool set I ordered got sent back because the chain wear tool had so much paint on it you couldn't see the stamped numbers on it and I knew it would be inaccurate because of the excess paint. I purchased the unpainted wear set and the tool is not made to specs and will not work.

I am overall very satisfied with this tool set. Chain breaker worked perfect upon first use, as did master link tool. The chain tensioner thingy was a nice touch and made it a breeze to get the chain back on the bike. The chain wear measure tool might be total junk, but I have not tried it yet.Obviously not Parktool quality finish and feel, and the potential is there for receiving a defect tool as some reviewers have shown; but overall this is an excellent tool set that wont leave you wanting more.

The tools seem well made. The chain tool did its work well, even on a really rusty chain. I haven't tested the accuracy of the chain checker, but it doesn't seem far off.

It seems all of the Home Bike Repair folks would love to buy Parks Tools because the brand is know for quality. However other quality tools are made as well and cost a third less. Bascally a full set of Park tools will cost over a hundred dollar for even a basic set.I have found the same tools for usually a third less.. These tools will last a lifetime and be able to do the job required perfectly. These excellent tools I purchased... Bike Link Plier + Chain Breaker Splitter Tool + Chain Checker are absouletly need tools and should be in your tool bag.

The chain checker and quick link tool are fine, however the chain pin remover tool is useless. Would not recommend for maintenance.
