Thanks to all the reviews that mentioned issues with the solid spacers. With that info I looked around my basement for anything that would offer resistance and found a roll of black neoprene tape. One rotation around my handlebars, tighten down the hex bolt and that thing seems solid. Attached my favorite bottle holder and I'm all set. Easy to grab and much safer than reaching down while I'm riding. This thing is all metal, very solid. If you don't use the included spacers there is no plastic to wear or break.Ratings: out of the box 4 stars, once modified and installed, 5 stars.Update: Turns out one rotation of tape is not enough, two or three times around the handlebars will give a much firmer grip.

There are two problems with this water bottle mount. First is that the cage attaches to the seat post clamp with a single bolt and there is a bunch of slop in the slot the holds the cage vertical. The cage will rock back and forth eventually loosen the bolt. No matter how tight the bolt is there will be slop because that joint is poorly designed. I "fixed" this by using JB weld to hold together in the desired orientation. The supplied seat post shims are hard plastic and not hard rubber. Eventually the clamp will slip. Having to supply your own epoxy and rubber shims kind of ruins the value for money.

My new ebike has the battery mounted on the downtube which really limits where I can put a bottle cage. I tried under the top tube but every time I hit a bump the bottle would start sliding out or just pop-out. This bracket solved that issue. I was able to mount it on the stem and put the bottle in easy reach. I don't know why some have had issues using the spacers. I used the thinnest one for this mounting spot and it holds tight. I have been using it for about the last 60 miles of riding and it just works.

Works great. I got tired of reaching down for my water bottle and taking my eyes off the road. Found this neat little device on Amazon. I mounted it on the handlebar riser using one of the spacers and it fits perfect.

I use this to hold my bike lock under my bike seat. It's a hefty folding lock that is designed to mount onto a water bottle mount. The lock weighs about 3 pounds and found that the screws on this mount started loosening pretty quickly. Used blue loctite on the screws to solve that problem and this mount has been good ever since.

Many reviews comment on the adapter not staying in place or position, and this is very true if the supplied spacers are used, the material when compressed does not provide enough friction to keep the adapter in position or place. Hence an easy solution is to take a roll of velcro material, cut it to the width of the adapter clamp, and wrap as many times as needed to obtain about a 1/4" to 3/8" gap between the clamp at the screw securing the 2 halfs. Tighten the screw really snug, the velcro will compress providing plenty of friction between the clamp itself and whatever you are mounting to i.e seat post, handle bar, or frame tube. I used it to mount water bottle cages holding Ultimate Ears speakers (Stereo) to my recumbent trike seat frame. Speakers are mounted solidly and haven't moved at all!!!

Bought this for my wife's bike as she likes her water bottle on her handlebars for rec riding..nicely manufactured - looks like it was machined almost.Solid and clamps well - has not moved in a dozen rides and some minor off roading / hills were involved..Would buy another if needed.

This was exactly what I needed! The bracket did tend to β€œslip” over rough terrain, so I took the advice of another reviewer, and cut a piece from an old bike tibe to make a gasket. Cut the tube to fit the width of the bracket and long enough to wrap around the bike tube. Perfect!! The bracket is solid, and does not move at all!! (I will use the bike tire tube for gaskets in the future!).My bottle cage mounted perfectly to the bracket and works perfectly. I am pleased with this purchase and recommend it to others who need a mount with flexible placement options.
