Ever since I was in Grade School I have been using BIC mechanical pencils. I only use traditional Wood Pencils for drawing/Sketch/Art.These BIC pencils are super cheap, and long lasting. These Velocity line lead pencils however are the best. The ergonomic design is more broad making and the gel grip extra comfortable. For those wanting to avoid tendon strain within your fingers, this particular type of BIC mechanical pencil is super comfortable compared to the more narrow BIC mechanical pencils.Now some people have their preferences when it comes to lead circumference size. Here I am sounding like a Nerd, but if you prefer 0.07mm this is your Pencil. It also comes with a supply of extra lead, eraser heads, in addition to the fact both mechanical pencils already contain three leads pre-loaded. Can't go wrong.

I received my package today and I looked into this item.What a surprise! I love the design which is simple and sleek! I also love the rubber grip which is rotatable and having 3 pits or grooves to adjust to the position of 3 fingers holding the pencil and to provide better grip. I found 3 pits help holding this pencil greatly. The lead comes out easily by clicking the lid and the tip could be withdrawn into the barrel after use to be protected from an injury. And what a price! Its only about 1$ per one pencil!I used to write with various Japanese mechanical pencils but this one looks and works equal or better. This is added to my favorite daily use mechanical pencil. I highly recommend this item to any one who are looking for good ordinary use mechanical pencil which is not so expensive. I think BIC made a nice budget mechanical pencil!

I used to swear by those cheapy Bic "matic grip" pencils... you know the ones; the thin, colored barrel mechanical pencils with the black grip. Those were the only pencils i would use until one day I was trying to write and the lead kept slipping back up into the pencil and driving me insane. I realized they weren't very comfortable to write with for long periods either so I figured it was time to find a new favorite pencil.These Bic velocity max pencils are everything I never knew I wanted in a pencil. The grip is large and very comfortable to hold (I either hold my pencil in a strange way or pencil makers do because the grip is never in the right place for me, making it uncomfortable to hold). The eraser is huge and it comes with extras. The lead is smooth as butter and very dark. No sign of the tip losing its grip on the lead and letting it slip back into the pencil. All around just the perfect pencil.The only very small gripe I have is that I wish the tubes for extra lead and erasers were separate so I can carry just the lead with me.
