I won't make this long. These are decent 50watt resistors to use for some headlight systems that can't detect the lower-current requirements of LED based upgrades. The reason these are needed is that with less current you can end up with sensor errors (car thinks there is a short or bulb is out) or relays will actuate much quicker (fast turn signals). Some cars have a code you can use to switch over into LED mode, others do not, and hence why you need these inline. You'll find other brands dress these up a tad more by epoxying them into plastic cases and labeling them as "CANbus Encoder/Decoder" -- they are not. These are giant resistors, turning energy to heat and for that, I prefer the exposed metal heatsink over the faked electronics casing. A true encoder/decoder will connect to the sensor line that accompanies the part, so keep that in mind if your car does have such data lines accompanying the power connection.

I had to returned them they were used and abused. It took like 14 days to get them across 5 states. Not worth it.

A fairly decent inline resistor to help compensate the low power draw of an LED that may cause an error code in some vehicles. These are exposed metal housings and will get pretty hot so, mounting them in an area that can cool them down even a little is ideal.
