Worked better than I expected. I have some loudspeakers directly to the side of the microphone and barely any of the audio gets picked up. As a shotgun microphone, it’s perfect. Mount is a little flimsy but that’s the least of my worries.

however being battery powered going into a battey powered mixer i get a wierd hum that i can not remove. Tried hum transformers and nothing seemd to work. Bringing levels really low it is not very noticable. Going to keep trying to figure it out as it seems like a nice mic.

This is a great budget mic for recording dialogue, interviews or voice overs. Tele mode gives good broadcast results and mic performs great in close range recording. It's a very usable sound if you are booming from 6ft away. Low noise levels, good strong signal. Plenty of options to do post processing on as well if needed. It's obviously not a NTG3 or an MKH 416, but for $25 it doesn't get much better at this price tag.

I teach film to young adults and needed a cheap mic for a short film. This works great. There are better but for the price it’s good.

I bought this to use with a portable camcorder, and for that, it is all but useless. The reason: that ridiculously long cord with no options for a shorter cord. The cord, even when bundled up is bigger and more heavy than the camcorder itself, so you have an unbalanced camcorder and rat's nest of cable. It is beyond me why someone would design a microphone with a battery- that otherwise would be perfect for a camcorder and ruin it with an excessive length of cable with no shorter options.

I had ordered this item, hoping it would deliver good quality for my money without leaving me wanting. And it delivered! I had an event in the middle of February that was quite loud with a DJ going, kids running amock and everyone else competing with their conversations. So I placed my AA battery (not included) in the compartment and switched to telescopic - and BOOM - their voices came out clear as day with minimum noise interference. Yes, there is some disturbance, but for the money, it is worth it! I'm going to get another as a backup should anything happen to this one so I'm ready to deliver my services uninterrupted. Oh, I haven't placed it on my DSLR to capture sound as of yet. With the extended cord length, I just hand it over to my interviewees, empowering them to speak candidly. They loved it and I got unbelievable quality for my clients! (Works even better without DJ/Live Band performing.) You won't be disappointed. Seriously!

My main shotgun mic has no battery compartment, and my mixer does not supply phantom power through XLR, so I bought this mic. Satisfied with sound quality (using for streaming). Others have noted issues with the included cable. I use my own XLR so cannot comment on the cable quality.

The sound quality of the mic blows me away. As a college student and audio engineer, I can appreciate a budget mic that sounds good. Although the price and audio quality are amazing, the build quality leaves a lot to be desired. It is very light and the battery compartment/XLR connection is very cheap and feels like it might snap one day.Only had it for about and month, so I will update this review about its longevity later. Wish there was a 4.5/5.0 star option. The initial review was 4/5 stars, but I changed it to 5/5 stars for longevity.Update 3 years later on 10/11/22: The mic is still working! Despite my initial hesitancy toward the build quality, it seems to be holding up well. XLR cables still fit into it loosely which has caused popping and crackling sounds on occasion, but it has not broken off. If I ever need another condenser mic, I will be picking up another one from this brand.

In the past few months I have needed to expand my Videography capabilities due to taking on new and challenging events.Expanding my video and audio equipment inventory has proven to be expensive. To shave a little cost off of the budget I decided to use a Surface Pro as my Mixer Board. I invested in some very professional post production editing software which allows me to correct the latency issue involved with using a computer for audio recording. However, I discovered that microphones act differently when connecting through a USB configuration to a PC. There are also lots of choices when it comes to external sound cards. Just because the PC recognizes the microphone, or microphones, doesn't guarantee it will work at all.To the point:I was hopeful that this microphone would work in my configuration. If it didn't I was looking at absorbing the cost already spent with the PC Mixer and having to purchase a Mixer Board as well.I wish I could give it more than five stars! With this mic I was able to finally set up a proper Mixer. Not only is it recognized exactly as it should be by the PC Mixer Board, but the sound is incredible! It out performed every mic I have. Some of them are far more expensive. It comes with a great XLR cable that is plenty long. Add the mic holder that's included and I wonder how they're making any money on this deal.I've already ordered more of them!3-19-2019I've added a lot of equipment to my setup. I ended up with many request to record events I had never planned on previously. The audio side of my production needed a huge upgrade to handle these events. This included a professional mixer, synthesizer and software upgrades.I found I would also need to place many more mics. Since I had such great results with this mic I decided to stay with it and so ordered more of them to meet my needs. Just this last week I set up a huge auditorium event. To capture a long table, audience audio and combat the echo I was required to place numerous mics. I used the Bestshoot mics. The auditorium had a sound system and mics they planned to use. Their setup was centered around primarily a single speaker at a podium. They had three different (expensive) mics. When doing the setup and mic checks they realized theirs were not going to work! As they heard me doing my mic checks they were quite impressed. They approached me and asked if I would use my system and mics and wire the entire event. The Bestshoot mics saved the day! The attendees commented all day on how wonderful the event sounded. The city sound engineer saw how many of these mics I had and commented that he was impressed that I would spend so much money on so many expensive mics. :-)
