This spike is made from aluminum, which makes it lightweight. The knurling on the handle feels too smooth, almost slick, and doesn't seem to offer much grip for my calloused fingers and hands. Visually comparing the knurling to another spike, it is clear that the knurl pattern is too shallow and too close together, for me, to get any grip on it. As for the durability of this spike, being aluminum, I can say that it holds up well to being dropped on cement, as the knurling is too smooth for me to get a good grip on this spike as it is.
