First engine rebuild has me finding new tools to buy - this is one of those tools. Good quality for the money and worked well to check the bearings for my Mazda rotary engine rebuild.

I thought the contact points would be much thinner. because if thick there could actually be a difference between 1 side of the contact point and the other side. especially in a graduating slope such as in a shotgun barrel manufactured with a full choke. lead shot is illegal to use while waterfowl hunting. and steel shot is dangerous if used in a barrel manufactured in full choke. so, my old Marlin Goose Gun is useless until I cut the choke in the barrel back to the point that the choke is at the modified point in the barrel. you can imagine that I've put a lot of thought into the measurement that I'm going to tell the gunsmith to cut the barrel back to. as of now the measurement is 1 and 3/4 inches off the tip of the barrel.

A very good tool to measure the inside of cylinders and bores of engines, commensurate by the use of micrometers to know the size measured!

The smallest of the tools came in pieces missing a spring. The rest are in good shape. These things are delicate and I don’t think the shipper was kind. Suggestion to the seller is to put it in better packaging or Saran Wrap the tools.

Like at least one or two other reviewers stated about these cheap instruments, it is a crap shoot. . . Since a couple of them were sticky at first.. . But I carefully worked them back and forth a few times and they got much better. . . Be sure to store these properly, and unless you got a lemon, they should last the average Home owner/mechanic, machinist or whatever for many years, I am guessing. I have not used them yet, but I think they will work decently. . . Hey, IF you want super great perfection, quality; then buy one of the expensive top quality brands. . And IF you are a full time machinist, maybe that is what you should do. I wished I had them a week ago, when I had to measure inside my truck rear end, instead of trying to concoct something on the spot to get me by. . .I would not be afraid of buying this again, IF that changes, I will let you know. . .but know this I will be 80 in a few weeks, and my avid wrenching, etc., are about done now. Good bye.
