I don't know why there's a strong saline taste on these- I got ones several years back but now they all have this problem.I have to soak them in water for a week to get 97 percent of that salt gone.The bottle + filter very useful for travel in Asia

Pretty good water filter, it does its job however it doesn't seem to last for a very long time but then again maybe I just drink a lot of water. I would say if you have the on-the-go Berkey water bottle then you definitely have to get these filters to go on your straw. Better than tap water, haha!

I have used the Berkey sports bottle for many years and this is the first filter I put in there which did not give off any blackness when I cleaned it for the first time and when you suck on the straw it is way too easy to get the water out ! The taste is not good I can still taste the chlorine. It says Berkey on the bottom but it doesn't matter to me if the filtration doesn't work. I don't know if this is a knock off or if there is a defect in manufacturing but it should not taste like this. Very disappointed.

It is going to do exactly what it says. I have had mine for about a month and it works great. It’s a little had to get on the water bottle and before you use it you have to squeeze water through it.
