I purchased one of this hub.I used the device instructions (see photo).Plugged it into the wall outlet using an iphone charger and an apple usb-c cable.Plugged the attached black cable into my ipadPlugged a WD external HDD in one of the 3 remaining portsThe ipad connects to the HDD, no issues. But my Ipad does not charged. Tried with an iphone 15. Same issue. Tried different wall chargers. Same issue. The power pass through does not charge the ipad or iphone 15Humm.. deffective unit?Contacted belkin support. They confirmed my setup was ok.I returned the device to Amazon and ordered a new one thinking the one i received was deffective.Received the new hub. Used the same setup. Same issue. Wont charge my ipad or iphone 15.I reversed the connection (black cable connected to wall charger and power port to ipad). Now this charges my ipad, but ipad does not see the HDD.This is not what i need. A usb hub to charge my ipad and power a HDD drive at the same time. Not sure if the second unit is faulty. Was a out to return it too, when i came across a review with the same problem indicating that it works well with a 45W wall charger. The typical Ipad/ Iphone charger is too weak to power the hub.I purchased a 45W wall charger and the usb hub works as planned.Belkin should clearly indicate this in the written product instructions and in the product desctiption on their website and on Amazon. Buyer beware!

I've had the device for a few weeks and so far so good. It works with my PC, iPad 12.9 Pro (5th generation) and iPhone 15 pro. Its small and easy to travel with. The ports are kind of close however that's the price for being compact. I can charge my pad/phone and run at least two devices at the same time. I'll likely buy another.

The description doesn't explicitly state it but USB 3.x standards can be confusing at times. I assumed this allowing a USB PD external power source was to power other devices such as portable screens. This will not pass through the thunderbolt protocol that I guess is necessary to drive the displays. I thought the increased bandwidth of usb 3.1/3.2 would run screens but I guess that's only with USB4(Thunderbolt compatibility). For all average usb 3.x purposes, it works fine. I'm keeping it but don't plan on plugging in dual portable USB-C monitors(thunderbolt) and having it work.

This Belkin multipurpose hub was really the device I needed! I bought a cheap version of this and it failed horribly. Whenever I tried to get my data transferred from one phone to the other it would act up and make the devices disconnect and reconnect randomly. However with this Belkin one I've been able to use it for data or media transfers without a problem! I do recommend you also find Belkin cables to connect to your devices because some of the cables your phones come with aren't capable of transferring data at the rate this Hub can reach. I know saving money it the first thing people think of when shopping, at least that's what I thought, but I realized that spending more for the quality and reliability is much better than going back to return cheap knock offs.

I recently bought a Casio keyboard to learn piano. I also got an IPad so I could use different sound sources and a piano learning app. Unfortunately iPads don’t have headphone jacks so you are forced to use Bluetooth. Bluetooth has a latency problem; whenever I depress a key in the piano it takes a 1/2 second for the sound to be produced in the headphones. Can’t play any instrument if the sound production isn’t instantaneous. In order to solve this I needed a usb c headphone converter and the Belkin hub so I could also plug in my piano.Anyway, this hub works. So now I can use my iPad for music and listen with headphones. For some reason, the charging port doesn’t work…maybe it only works on a computer. Whatever…it works for my needs.

I bought the Belkin unit because of their reputation for quality. This product allows convenient connection of a mouse, keyboard and external backup drive to my MacBook Pro laptop with M2 chip. One port works with the charger. NOTE: this product does NOT support connection of an external monitor, that will only work using the USB-C jack on the computer.

Background:I have a Dell Precision laptop that has laughable 1 usb-c port (granted it is a circa 2020 machine). I wanted an expansion dongle that would have at least 3 ports. I usually prefer Anker products, but back then, none of the Anker products had only usb-c. There were other hard-to-name Chinesium brands which were similarly priced as this Belkin, so I decided to go with the Belkin, as I have used numerous Belkin products.Pros:Compact design and layout. The first port even has pass through current up to 100W to charge smaller devices.Easy to open packaging.Good "click" locking mechanism for the connections. No speed reduction when using multiple drives/storage devices.Con (More of an Improvement):I wished the upstream power cord was removable, which would make it easy to store and could use different lengths if needed. The current 12-inch one is not bad, but can cause issue to fold while carrying or storing.Bottomline:For $35 you can't go bad with a good brand that has been around. I will give it a 4.6/5.0.
