Quality Components
Those in the know will appreciate the FBQ3102's uncompromising components such as the ultra low-noise audio operational amplifiers that provide outstanding sound performance, or the servo-balanced inputs and outputs with 1/4" TRS and gold-plated XLR connectors. You can expect unmatched reliability and longevity because high-quality illuminated faders, detent potentiometers and illuminated switches were designed for the rigors of every-day use. With its comprehensive features and quality craftsmanship, the FBQ3102 will never leave you sailing on thin ice.

FBQ Feedback Detection System
The FBQ Feedback Detection System is one of the most outstanding characteristcs of Behringer's graphic equalizers. This ingenious circuitry lets you immediately recognize and eliminate feedback frequencies. The FBQ Feedback Detection System uses the LEDs in the frequency band faders to indicate the critical frequencies. This way, what once used to be a labor-intensive search for feedback frequencies is now an activity that even a child could master.

In normal operation, the fader LEDs indicate frequency ranges with the highest energy levels, therefore replacing a separate audio analyzer. If you keep an eye on the LEDs while you play back your music (or during the sound check before a show), you can easily identify those frequency ranges showing the highest energy levels. Similarly, increased signal levels on individual frequency bands indicate a higher likelihood that feedback may occur.

Relay-Controlled Hard Bypass
The so-called "hard bypass" relays assure that your equalizer is automatically switched into bypass mode in the event of loss of power or faulty power delivery. These fail-safe relays also produce a slight delay during powering up in order to avoid dangerous switch-on thumps.

Balanced Inputs and Outputs
The BEHRINGER ULTRAGRAPH PRO models feature electronic servo-balanced inputs and outputs. The servo function performs automatically, recognizing when unbalanced signals are connected and internally converts the nominal signal level so that no signal level difference between input and output signals occurs (6 dB correction).

This EQ really sounds great. Really woke up the sound on my Cerwin Vega XLS 215’s. Powered by a QSC 2500 watt amp. Professional audio set up.

An equalizer for the price, easy to manage and ajust. Really good with my 2 Cerwin Vega XLS-215 when i'm home in my 20m^2 room made of plaster i can turn up the low frequencies to get a bit more feel to the sound and when i'm out in big concrete rooms i can turn it down and ring it out to get the perfect room fill of low, mid and high frequencies.

We use two of these for our PA. One for FOH and one for monitors. They are great for tweaking out and feedback frequencies and great for the price.

I love this equalizer. The feature of the little lights on the faders that respond to the signal on that frequency makes setting them (Ringing them out) a breeze for a live sound situation. I crank up the volume and when feedback starts to occur I can identify the guilty frequency very quickly and bring it down until it goes away.then crank it more, and repeat It gets the job done well and really quickly. When used for monitors, during the process of setting the equalizer it can be helpful to lower the output on the power amp. That makes the signal going through the equalizer stronger and the lights easier to see. When done bring it back up to provide headroom.

I waited until I had put this through it's paces to give a review. This is definitely a professional-grade EQ - you are not going to plug it into the stereo you bought at the local Target without some serious research into converting pro connectors to consumer connectors. With that said, when fed from the right quality of source and with a good amp after it, you can fine-tune to account for any environment.Pros:Rack-mountXLR and TRS connectionsClear indicators for at-a-glance referencediscrete subwoofer output with adjustable cutoutCons:Inside heat sink should have been vented to outside air - it gets very hot in some configurationsThis is worth it if you have the setup to match it's capabilities; if all you have is RCA jacks, plan on some work to get it going, and do not skimp on the cables.

I am still trying to get the warm sound = right now it sometimes sounds a bit cold, but I suspect that as I get to know the Equalizer, I will get to like it more. I like the great number of adjustment sliders. I am using 2 different speakers, one in need of repair, as the mid-highs a re missing, yet I am still getting a good sound with the help of this device. Hard to go back to the muffled sound of vocals on the bypass mode. The buttons seem a bit flimsy.

My old MXR finally died after 30 + years of use. After doing everything I could think of, and replacing this and that, it was a forgone conclusion it had done all it had come here to do. Bummer. Saw this Behringer EQ and picked it up. Had to use XLR at first then used the 1/4" phone plug cables which work just fine. Power up and ops are fine but there is some very quiet ground loop noise on Ch 1. Still working on that one but thinking is a good ground system will fix it. Because it is so quiet and a fairly low noise floor, I won't lose sleep over it. It only went in the old stereo system and the price certainly is right. After some tweaking and tuning, the EQ seems to work fine with very good response. Levels are happy around the neutral gain setting. Everything else sounds fine and you can really get some nice effects. The nice thing about having 31 bands is being able to do so much more. If you get it, start with small changes then work your way up. You'll find some nice response after a while and some patience. I had to pull the rack mount ears off so it would fit in the audio cabinet but it does and that's a big factor. If using in a similar cabinet, be sure to measure. This is not a high dollar piece of equipment and using in a high end environment may or may not work for you. If you are on a budget and need good sound, I can't see where you'd go wrong.Disclaimer: Remember this, as with most audio, is very subjective and everyone will have different tastes, likes and dislikes. This equalizer works fine and is easy to use. But I am uncomfortable with the high heat it generates. It gets VERY hot on the back panel around the sub output. It gets so hot in that area, it hurts to keep a finger there. This is very strange as the heat is generated even when the EQ it not wired to anything but the A/C power. It is not on top of warm equipment either. I have observed this high-heat behavior on two units. Two different calls to Behringer yielded two results. The first time it was suggested that I exchange the device, which I did. The second time I was told the heat was O.K. Weee, multiple choice from customer support.

Even though this is a professional model I am using it in my home system replacing an equalizer I have had for many years. This EQ is an awesome piece and exceeded my expectations. I am amazed how reasonable in price it was, yet has many features you would expect to pay much more. I am extremely happy with this piece of equipment and would recommend it for anyone who wants to improve their sound system.
