I've never played a real minimoog myself but from what I understand and have witnessed through comparison videos this comes exceptionally close to replicating that sound. You'd be hard pressed to tell them apart in a blind test unless you're some kind of savant, and in a mix? Forget about it. That aside, it's a lot of fun, and an analog monosynth capable of such fat leads and basses at this price is hard to pass up. If I were less poor I'd have multiple (or the poly d!)Would be great I think for people newly interested in synthesis and veterans alike.

It sounds damn close to a Model D to my ear, and at a damn good price point. But it's a Behringer, so don't expect stellar build quality, and I would baby the hell out of it if I was planning on taking it anywhere.

I sold my Minimoog that I had for 40 years a few years ago simply because I wasn't using it. It was too valuable to take on stage and so there it sat in its road case. I first saw this bad boy at Guitar Center, walked up to it, dialed in a patch and started playing. The sales guy came up to me and asked me 'how did you do that so fast'. After explaining that I used to have 2 Minimoogs on stage and patch changes many times happened while you were playing another keyboard, you develop muscle memory. That's the compliment for this thing. Except for some subtle, and welcome additions, it works and feels like the original at under $500.

I don't know how anyone could give this less than 5 stars. It's a well-built mini-Minimogue for a few hundred bucks, with extra CV in/out, that sounds as good as the original, but with more stability. Make sure you do the internal tuning when you first receive the unit and let it warm up for 30 minutes before you do that.

I really like this synthesizer module. It is very close to the original Minimoog D, which I own. However, of the 6 knobs in the oscillator bank 4 are very loose and keep falling off. They are the press on type with no set screw so there is no way to tighten them. After registering the product I filled out a service request for replacement knobs. I received an auto reply with a case number and never heard from them again. I attempted to contact them again and received another auto reply stating they do not accept emails regarding service issues, and that I had to fill out another request form, etc. This is my first Behringer purchase. Though I like the product, I'm not likely to purchase any more since they apparently don't honor their warranties.

I loved this unit, and still do. So much so, I bought a second one so I could have a duophonic experience. One of the units was bought used, which invalidates the warranty. Everything went great until both failed. Amazon worked with me on getting their unit fixed, but nothing worked, so I sent it back for a refund, which was a mistake. I still had the used one and, on a hunch, checked the MIDI cable I used to connect them. It had failed. After trying everything, I used the Synthtool utility and did a "factory reset" on it. I bought a new MIDI cable and everything has worked perfectly since then. I really wish we had explored the possibility of a factory reset on the original unit. I replaced it with a Poly-D and use the Model D for bass lines, effects and leads.

The Model D is an excellent synth. The quality is fantastic and the sound is amazing. I tune it with a pedal (audio out from my interface) and haven't had to calibrate. This is my third Behringer synth (along with a Deepmind and Neutron) and I love them all. In fact I enjoy them so much I've got a Cat on the way!If you're just starting out, this is the perfect synth to learn with.

Behringer did not just clone a classic synthesizer, they added multiple features. I am able to use this synthesizer along with my old PAiA Modular synthesizer and more recently purchased, Korg SQ-1 Sequencers. This instrument is well crafted, the knob use and switches are all quite solid, plus it is MIDI friendly for use with a computer or MIDI controller. I merely wish that this was either designed for a 19" rack style cabinet or that the case was square, so that it would easily sit upright. The overall height of this instrument is designed for use in a Eurorack style cabinet, but I will like construct custom made cabinets more in the style and size of my PAiA cabinets. All-in-all, it is a great instrument!

The Behringer Model D is a very fine synth with fine build quality and truly proper sound. It has one very annoying flaw: if a note begins exactly when the previous one ends, the filter envelope doesn't trigger even though it should, just like with every other synth (the notes don't overlap). This problem is unique to this synth, it doesn't happen with any other analog synth I've ever used, and I've used quite enough synths, including modular setups with CV to MIDI modules. The only way to avoid this problem in the "Boog" is to disable "legato", but then you can't have this behavior when you actually need it (by extending the previous note so that it overlaps with the beginning of the next note). Despite this very annoying problem, I'm still giving it 5 stars, because the value for the money is off the charts, you get truly proper, high quality voltage controlled oscillators and ladder filter.

I did not believe my eyes when I saw this on prime, in India, while it has a month long wait everywhere else in the world. Price wasnt too bad either. Was delivered as promised in perfect condition. As for the product itself, there's tons of YouTube videos. I let my Moog Minitaur go to make space for this and I have very few regrets.
