I had previously tried the cheap-o $32 replacement clutch and it was awful. Was a working part but after 5 minutes of driving, car sounded like a big rig and had diminished power/fuel efficiencyThis part is superior. It's Behr! Installed in ~20 minutes with my own tools. Car pulls harder and doesn't make embarrassingly loud fan noises in afternoon traffic. If your fan clutch needs replacing, this is the correct choice

I have bought two of these. One for my car and the other for my wife’s. Both M54 BMW engines. Fan clutch works great. No extra noise and the fan kicks in without an issue.Easy to install once the fan is off. Better quality than the one I almost bought from AutoZone and 2/3 the price. Impossible to complain!

A while back I purchased a cheap fan clutch for around thirty bucks and my car was screaming like a jet at low speeds. it was staying cool and once I got up to highway speeds it seemed fine but it was just super loud and really annoying.People on the forums mentioned this fan clutch that would solve that issue so I tried it and it works perfectly. I can hear the engine again and the car stays cool. Highly recommend spending the extra bucks and getting this one and stay away from those cheap ones!

I bought this to replace the one I installed when I did my cooling system rebuild on our BMW convertible. I found out that the one I installed for the rebuild was defective. It was performing exactly opposite to the way it was designed to work. It would stay engaged when the engine was cold and sounded like a turbine engine on steroids. Then it would disengage when the engine was under a load and above normal operating temperature. They are designed to stay disengaged until the engine goes above the normal operating temperature. At that point it should engage the fan to create a larger volume of airflow over the radiator, which dissipates the heat from the coolant and dropping the temp. of the engine back to normal. This product is OEM and immediately after installing it, my engine sounds and performs as it should. I never should have installed anything other than OEM in the first place...after all, it was installed by BMW when it was built.I am very pleased and satisfied with this fan clutch and with the seller. It arrived in 2 days in perfect condition and I had it installed in a half hour.

When it comes to OEM for BMW.....go with Hella! I installed this product in my 1998 BMW 528i (E39, M52) and have had ZERO issues since the install. Do the research and read what happens to customers who don't go with a trusted OEM brand like Hella. Those that have gone with the cheapest route are stuck with a cooling fan that runs on high all the time and sounds like they're driving a semi. This fan clutch solved my overheating issues and fit perfectly during the install. It's been in the car about 2 months now and has kicked on and run on high only a couple times that I've noticed but only when necessary. Great product.....no issues! Highly recommend Hella!

Perfect fit and cheaper than sellers on eBay! 1997 BMW 328IS. Didn't want to risk low quality Chinese crap, so bought Hella and happy I did.OEM fan clutch on my 1997 BMW 328IS had finally failed. This was a direct fit and inexpensive option over buying it from the dealer.Heard nasty stories from other that bought the cheap chinese visco clutches, so opted to not skimp and go with quality.Peace of mind that it's not going to detonate or fly apart in my engine compartment.

This was for my 3-series BMW, the original fan clutch had failed and the car was super loud, embarrassing even. After doing some research on what brand to get I took a chance as this is labled as Hella branded. That is true, but it is also labled Behr, which is one of the two brand names you will see many BMW forums recommend. (the other is Sachs, which costs slightly more)It's a quality part made in Germany and the fit and finish is perfect. My car is quiet and I can actually hear the engine again. I would definitely recommend this item.
