I recently got this child safety bed rail, and it has been a solid addition to my son's bedtime routine. It effectively keeps him from rolling out of bed, which has given me peace of mind. I particularly appreciate the padding on the bed rail; it provides a soft cushion when he accidentally rolls into it, ensuring he stays safe and comfortable.Overall, this product does what it’s intended to do: it keeps my child safe while sleeping. However, there are a few drawbacks to consider. This particular style does not have a droppable side, which means the rail remains in an upright position at all times. Unlike another set of rails I have, which features a hinge that allows it to drop down, this one requires removal from the bed if you want to lower it.Another important point to note is that this bed rail only covers one side of the bed. While the installation connects the rail securely, it needs to be anchored to the opposite side under the mattress. If it’s not installed properly, there’s a risk that your child could fall out of bed, as there’s nothing holding the rail in place. Therefore, it’s crucial to ensure that it’s secured correctly. Alternatively, you might want to consider a double-sided rail that attaches to both sides, which would minimize installation issues and provide added security. In summary, while this bed rail is effective and soft, it’s essential to be mindful of its limitations and installation requirements. If you can ensure proper setup, it’s a good product for keeping your child safe during sleep!

The ONLY downside to this railing is that it doesn’t fold down. So once it’s up, it’s up. But the padding on the side is so nice my toddler curled up to it and slept with one leg over it the entire night lol. The other one I have is mesh on the side and he tends to avoid it. This one was also super easy to put together and install, and feels very secure. I recommend if you don’t co-sleep like my husband and I do, ours needs the feature of being able to lower and raise it so he can get out of bed in the mornings to go to work. But this one we got for my mother when she watches him overnight and she only sleeps with the baby so it’s perfect for that sort of situation.

Doesn't stay in place. The very first night my toddler rolled out of bed and it fell down. I'm disappointed because I did like that the cover was washable.

I have a disabled dog that is practically blind and can barely walk on her own. She needs to sleep with me or she could hurt herself trying to walk, falling down stairs, getting trapped between furniture etc. The list of hazards in my house is endless, really. So, at night, I need to keep her from rolling out of the bed. So, I bought this Bed Guard Rail for Toddlers.Installation is simple. Once you assemble the 3 rails, you tuck them under your mattress and slide over the foam padding. There are straps that hold the rails under the mattress and secure them to the other side of the bed so that they don't give way.For me, the straps weren't necessary because the bottom rail of my bed, securely holds the rails under my mattress. However, I did have a safety concern (see pics). The left and right sides (about 10 inches each side) don't have support and won't hold back any weight. So, if a toddler were to press against those spots, they could easily fall through. I was concerned about those areas for my dog so I had to mention them here.4 stars.

My partner suffers from epileptic seizures, most of which he tends to have in the middle of the night while asleep. During a few of these he's unfortunately fallen from the bed and hurt himself/knocked his head on the bedside table, so I made the decision to give these a try to create an effective barrier to help him.As of yet he hasn't had an episode, so I cannot say for certain if these will work like I'm hoping they will, I can only speak to what I have experienced with the product so far. I will update this review after I can speak to the effectiveness of this usage, but I imagine it will be just as good for an adult as it would for a child.-Installation was easy and straightforward, though the instructions weren't the most useful in the world-The padding is soft enough though I wouldn't call the material exactly "pleasant" and the clips to keep the cushions attached to the railing could be a bit stronger. For use cases like this one, the padding is actually pretty easily moved down between the rails and the mattress for easily getting out of bed, which is a nice surprise. The rails also function as a makeshift handrail to assist in getting up which is an added bonus seeing as my partner also suffers from spinal issues and occasionally needs help getting out of bed depending on the severity of pain.In all I'm very satisfied with the product and the peace of mind it currently brings me.

I ordered this for our when our toddler granddaughter comes to spend the night on our slat-bottomed futon. The rail assembly went together fairly easily, but I don’t think I’d want to put it on and off between overnight or weekend visits very often, because of the straps that are needed underneath the mattress to secure the pad and rails. It would be easier with two people, but I assembled it myself (63 yr. old female), and the mattress was tough to lift to get the straps underneath. This is more suited for long term use. Besides that, the interlocking bars that make up the rail are sturdy, the padding comfortable, and the straps are thick and hold well. I tested how firmly it held when pushing against the rail with my body while lying down on the mattress, and it held very securely. I doubt a toddler can budge it while sleeping or even playing against it. It is nice that the pad cover can be removed and washed, too.
