It passed the file test easily and feels good in the hand. Perfect size for woodworking, camping ect. The edge protector is very tight and it does have a few bumps from the forging process but considering the design, quality and price, it’s definitely five stars.I always tweak tools here and there to make them perfect and this one requires almost nothing. I think the edge protector will easily “break in” and the small bump at the bottom of the beard will disappear with the first normal sharpening. Incredibly minor stuff. The core product is rock solid in design and construction.

This axe does come pretty sharp out of the box. It is smaller than I thought it would be. Handle is well made and feels good. If taken care of should last many years. Comes with belt loop and sheath very well made and fits on axe nicely. I would recommend this for someone that is camping and needing some that will last and is small to conserve space.

This company makes some extremely amazing products! I myself do leather work, wood work and forge.. Love the raw homemade look, very sturdy, axe comes sharp and clean, handle is short and sweat, great for overall control. Seems like it can handle the job, definitely strong. Feels great when holding it, has very even weight. Definitely recommend for any and all outdoorsy individuals. Have fun and be safe. Blessed be!

I was really excited when this little hatchet came up in my feed. I've got a wood burning stove and the winter is coming! I own a very nice splitting axe from Sweden and have been looking for a small hatchet which could match the style, if not the quality. This little hatchet works well, it's obviously quickly formed by hand (or automatic anvil) but that gives it some charm! The handle is excellent hardwood and the connection to the axe head has a decent brass wedge. I also like the snap cover and belt hanger. When I received it, I put the hatchet on my belt while I was prepping firewood for the winter and I took it out a few times to cut some small kindling. As mentioned in the title, the grinding on the blade could be better and I will definitely give it a better, and sharper grind. Also the leather of the belt loop is a bit sub par compared to the blade cover, but it's still workable. Overall the hatched performed very well and I know I will get a lot of use out of it over the winter wood burning season. It is a bit smaller and the head is lighter than I would like, but that does prevent fatigue if using it a lot. Once it's got a better grind on the blade I know it will perform perfectly. Definitely worthy of consideration if you're looking for a well made and designed hatchet for a reasonable price. My splitter from Sweden has a sibling!

Handle feels nice in my hand. The leather accessories (belt holder and blade cover) are well constructed and adds a nice touch. The metal blade has a nice weight to it. I’m excited to start using it. I’ve bought cheap hatchets but this seems like it will last longer than those.

Excellent construction. Razor sharp out of the box. Will be very helpful in roughing out carving blanks. Short handle provides excellent control.
