I've used this stuff since I was a kid and it works better than any other, similar, product.It keeps my work boots waterproof and my uniform boots supple, comfortable, and most importantly, perfectly matte black and professional-looking.I like to use a heat gun to help it soak in to the leather.

I use this on my decade old Redwings (brown) and Solovair boots (black) that are only a couple years old.It works great on both. Keeps the leather soft and makes both pairs look new.It's easy to apply with your hands and I've had the waterproofing remain for >1 year since last applying it

I had to chuckle when I read the poor reviews on this product. I don't know what was in their cans but it certainly wasn't the same as mine. There is simply not a better product out there but, like another reviewer said, allow plenty of time to apply and to soak in. I put my boots in a warm place and give them at least a couple of days to set, otherwise the brambles and grass tend to stick. I just finished up an old can of this and I was relieved to find it on Amazon, I wouldn't want to go without it.

Great product and very good customer service!!!You can heat either the wax or the boot, with a hair dryer, prior to applying, and you know it gets maximum penetration. Waterproofing at it's best!!! Never had luck with rub on products, or silicone sprays, waste of time. I wanted serious protection from water this time and I researched for a good long while, read customer reviews, and BearGuard came out ahead in all areas.If I'm going to spend time preparing my boots for damp exposure, I want the best, and this product has pleased the most customers whose reviews I read!AND...the product is "Green"!!! The grease ingredient, from bears, is extracted by providing the bears access to a huge outdoor sauna. Bear sweat contains special natural oils, otherwise known as 'Bear Grease'. These "grease drippings" are funneled into a huge underground vat, where any salt and water is extracted, leaving only natural, pure, food grade, bear grease. Eventually, the bears leave the sauna, unharmed, with plenty of time to rebuild their fat stores prior to the onset of Winter. The Bees Wax ingredient is collected carefully from the ears of live bees, by commercial bee keepers, with really tiny 'Q-tips", and carefully mixed with the bear grease in a propitiatory formula to provide this exceptional waterproofing product. I realize this may sound strange to the uninformed...but I say..."Prove me wrong!"However it's done, it works really well!!!
