I bought this for use in my outdoor shed. This thing is awesome! It has a motion sensor so it turns on when someone gets near. You also have the option for it to activate only at dusk. The light itself is very bright and illuminates my entire 8 x 10‘ shed. Very easy to install and so far very reliable. I highly recommend this light.

Great item. My shower/bathtub is just a little darker than I like. I used waterproof bathroom command strips to install on the ceiling so that I didn't have to deal with locating a stud, etc. Make sure you get the heavy duty ones bc this light is heavy!! It takes 4 D batteries (adds to the weight) which are not included. The light turns on as soon as I approach the bathroom. If you're not moving around much, it will shut down again after a few minutes, but it doesn't take much to get it on again. There are 2 settings to the light which aren't clearly marked in the instructions. The default setting is made so that the motion sensor only operates when the room is dark. If there is any ambient light, this setting will render the light useless. I almost returned the item thinking the motion sensor was broken. To change to the other sensor, remove the plastic cover. You'll see a black "toggle like" switch. Pull off the black cap completely. With the sensor cap removed, the motion sensor will work regardless of how light the room is.Update: still love the added light is adds to the shower, but it does go through battery fairly quickly. We only have 1 bathroom for 2 of us, and it's also where our laundry is located, so the light does come on fairly frequently. That said, be prepared to change out 4 D batteries every couple of months.

I've ordered 2 of these, after having to return 1 (and get another one to be delivered) due to the sensor not working, everything works exactly as expected.

My wife has been hounding me to put lights in our pantry and hall closet for 27 years (I'm serious). She's a saint, I gave her a flashlight instead of pulling circuits to install 120v lighting, and she's been OK with it (yeah, I really lucked out when I married her!). But when I saw these MB990 lights on Amazon for a great price in the two pack, I figured let's give it a shot. And I am glad I did, they are great! They are the brightest lights of their type that I have found, and boy, let me tell you, they really light up both area nice and bright with a daylight-temperature light (bluish-white). I much prefer the lighting color temperature of the MB990 to anything soft white, because it appears brighter and that is why I bought the MB990, because it is the brightest battery operated light I found. Very easy to install, just drill four little holes and hammer in some wall anchors into the ceiling and secure the mounting base, then twist the unit onto the base and your done. If you can install a smoke detector on the ceiling, you can easily install these lights. While some people complain that sometimes you need to wave your hands to make the motion sensor turn on the light, I have actually found that behavior to be beneficial. It allows me to sometimes open the pantry when there is more than ample ambient light in the kitchen, and pull something off the shelf quickly without triggering the light and therefore conserving battery life. If I need the light to be on in these cases, a quick wave of my hand in front of my face and the light comes on every time. One suggestion that I would make to the manufacturer is to incorporate a jumper in the MB990 that allows the user to choose from two or three options for the lighting duration. Perhaps 30, 60 and maybe even 90 seconds, this would please folks that want a little less or a little more lighting time than the hardwired 30 seconds the MB990 currently provides.Bottom line, don't keep your wife in the dark for 27 years like I did! If you need to light up an area and it just doesn't make sense to hard-wire fixtures in there, buy these MB990s with confidence. Changing a set of D cell batteries once or twice a year is really cheap compared to the price of an electrician, and my wife beams a smile now every time she comes out of the pantry. Just do it!

My stand-up shower was really dark and I wanted a solution to provide light in it without having to rewire anything. When I fell upon this light I was a little skeptical at first. I mean, it says weather proof but I like showers so hot you can cook pasta in!! Anynoodle, installation was a breeze and I've tested it for almost a week now and there is zero effect of the steam on the light. Definitely would recommend!Pros:- Super bright- Looks great- Motion is sensitive enough that if you are to still and it turns off just move a finger and you're back in action.- Easy installation and everything is provided.- Looks to be pretty good at handling water/steam (in a bathroom setting).Cons:- In a shower situation, I wish there was a way to set the timer to stay on a little longer...- You need to buy batteries??All in all, great light for a great price!

Se ven mejor en la foto que en la realidad. Se justifica el precio muy apenas. Yo esperaba una estética mejor, pero no fue así, el tiempo de encendido dura muy poco.

7/13/2020 update. I bought two more, and I had the same issue of the screws not tightening in the included anchors, on one of the light mounts. I put silicone glue on the screws and mounted them, then snugged them after the glue set. The trigger area is exactly the same as my original lights, about 3 and a half feet away from the light before they go on. I still rate these 4.5 stars.I give these 4.5 stars. The reason for not giving a 5 is the screws and anchors and screws provided. I mounted one light today into a hollow wall. After drilling and installing the nylon anchors and screwing the plate in, the anchors were turning. I pulled them out and put glue on them and reinstalled the anchors. After the glue dried I screwed the plate on again but the screws stripped the nylon anchors. They are firm enough but I am not sure how they will hold up from twisting the fixture on and off periodically. I think I will eventually need to climb up into the dusty crawl space and install a piece of plywood over the drywall that the light is mounted to.The performance of the light is fantastic! It is very bright. It activates quickly and does not turn off as long as there is movement. Once the movement stops the light turns off in about 20 seconds. I mounted it at the head of the cellar steps so it illuminates the stairs and the front shelves. I can think of many other places to put them so I will probably get two more.Update in the PM- I installed the second one in the hallway, and this install revealed one issue I don't like. The sensor has a narrow cone that projects straight down from the light. For very high ceilings it would work better, but my hallway is 7' high so the light will only trigger when I am about 3 and a half feet away from it. So I am walking in the dark for 30 feet until I am 6 feet away from the light before it goes on. For such a bright light they should have made a much wider cone of detection. The other thing they really need to do is put an on/off switch on the thing. Then we could have it turned off until it is back up on the ceiling and then turn it on. Currently as soon as you put batteries in the thing, the light comes on and it blinds you as you try and get it screwed back onto its base.
