My harbor freight trouble light cracked in half and was on its way out so I bought the cheapest replacement head I could find on Amazon and this worked perfectly. My cord didn't have the ground wire but that's easy to work around since I have a GFCI. Install was easy and this one even includes an outlet so I can power someone from it...the original led light that came with it didn't have one so for $9 this serves as a functional upgrade as well. Very happy!

The instruction booklet recommends a 3 wire 16awg line cord which isn't stated in the description. I had purchased a 14awg cable at the same time that I purchased the lamp because I got a good deal on it. It turns out that I had a difficult time connecting up the 14awg line cord because of the flexibility of the wire and the space limitations inside the handle. With a thinner cable, it would have been much easier to install. In addition, the wiring diagram in the instructions isn't clear (it's a bad photocopy) and not accurate. But all you need to know is that the white wire (neutral) in the cable goes to the silver terminal in the unit, the black wire is hot and goes to the gold terminal (which connects to the center terminal of the bulb), and the green wire gets plugged into the tab. The green wire ground is for the receptacle on the unit and is connected internally. The metal cage is electrically isolated and is not needed to be connected to the green wire ground.

This light is more robust than the light that it replaced. I should have purchased much sooner.

In a world where repairing, correcting fixing spent portions of products is discouraged, this item is a breath of fresh air. Took less than 6 minutes per light to cut the power chord, remove the vinyl sheath, strip the plastic off black and white wires, place the pair and close the 2 Philips screw. Brilliant, economical. Works reusing exist 10 ft chord. The key is to Google user manual, quick start guide identify plus, minus ground if any that is not in the kit.

I needed a new protective cage for my drop light. I found this one and I was surprised at some of the low reviews. They mostly were people that didn't snap on the fact it's a cage replacement. It's NOT pictured with a cord, so I don't know why someone would think they're getting a full drop light setup for 8 bucks. There is this same setup WITH a cord for 23 bucks.Took less than a minute to attach it to my old drop light and it works great.

I bought 2 of these and returned 1 of them. If you want a cheap work light, this will do the trick, but it is extremely lightweight and flimsy. I only kept the other one because I went through the process of attaching the cord and used the connectors. The cage is minimal, but at least it is made of metal. It comes with crimp connectors and is pretty easy to attach your 16/3 wire to the terminals, but it is really cheaply made. It lacks the feeling of quality that you used to find in work lights.

Thus is a grat cord end fixture. Knowing it has no cord I ordered on sale 50ft 16/3 extension cords on sale, and now have 2 each drop light 50 ft long at a super bargain price. If you are a guy who uses these things, maybe you have the skill set to assemble your own, like me. Went together in a snap, all wire terminals needed are included, just snip the single recepticle end off the extension cord and make the connections inside this cord end fixture on your own.It was a snap, is 50ft long (It could be amy length cord you choose), built well, nice, I like it. With the screw in 120v LED bulb it doesn't get hot like they used to.
