Honestly, I never got around to putting in the new battery. The product came when it said it would and everything seemed like it went smoothly. I bought this a LONG time ago now and never reviewed because I was waiting to make sure it fit. I can't give you that answer, not even today. It's a shame as I have to read with my nook plugged in instead of just finally taking it apart and putting in the new battery for it. But by the time i get a chance to read I want to read, otherwise I seem to be too busy to get to replacing it out.With so many having great luck with these batteries, i hope I do as well.

Way too thick. The back cover won't reattach without forcing it. Forcing it will cause a bulge in the touch screen rending it inoperable. Avoid this product if you want to actually use your nook after replacing it.

Not a true replacement. This battery is thicker than the original making it almost impossible to put the cover back on after installation.Once I got the cover back on, it had a bulge in the middle and many of the touchscreen icons, especially toward the outer edge stopped working.Save your money, after spending the $30 +/- on it and a couple of hours of my life, I would have been better off just replacing the Nook.I will not buy NewPower99 products again.And to add insult to injury, they make you pay postage to ship it back.

I ordered one of these direct from NewPower99. It arrived promptly, and included the battery (which appears to be of decent quality), a piece of double-sided tape to adhere the battery to the inside of the Nook's back cover, a spudger to remove the Simple Touch's rear button, and a magnetically-tipped torx driver to remove the single screw that sits underneath the button. Removal of the old battery was straightforward, but required patience.I went through two batteries. Understand: the replacement batteries are thicker than the original.The original battery has a capacity of 1530 mAh and is about 2.8 mm thick. The replacement batteries have a capacity of 2150 mAh. The first battery I received fit so tightly I couldn't get the cover back on correctly. I contacted NewPower99, and they promptly sent a replacement battery. The new one is still thick, and the fit snug, but the back cover went on much easier and didn't give me nearly as much trouble.The new battery still exerts some pressure on the back cover, and so the cover doesn't sit completely flush with the plastic bezel on the Nook's front. Even so, I had no trouble getting the screw back in.The Nook is on the charger. We'll see how it goes.I did have to make one minor modification to my Nook. The back cover has a raised lip of plastic that forms a rectangular area, in which the battery is placed. There is a gap in this lip to allow the battery's power leads to pass through. The power leads in my replacement battery were close to, but not exactly in, the same position as the leads on the original battery. I had to file away some of the plastic lip to make space for the replacement battery's leads.By the way, I'm *very* pleased with NewPower99's customer service. My inquiries were answered promptly and politely. The quality of the battery and the tools appear to be top-notch as well.

The first battery I received was defective. The defective battery was replaced without arguement. Since the second battery worked I would say ok but can't give it more than an ok.
