I had a drain that had rusted out and the cross bars snapped off using the drain removal tool. this extractor did the trick after 5 minutes I had the old drain out. note make sure you have a 1 inch ratchet as I only had a 3/4 so I had to wing it with my tools.

I removed three very old, very stuck tub drains with this tool. It does take more than just a tap of the hammer. You must hit it well a few times to fix it in there. It needs to dig into the metal to grab it enough to unscrew. But, it works great!

Faced with a "stuck" tub drain, possibly missing the drain's internal cross, this tool may very well be your release from "Plumber's Hell".When all else has failed this set may save time and embarrassment.Select the plug size which fits the "frozen" drain; be certain it is resting inside the drain; using a hammer drive the extractor solidly into the drain. Using a socket, pipe wrench or Crescent wrench that fits the plug SNUGGLY, apply "lefty loosee" force. If the drain is still not moving attach a "cheater bar" to increase torque(force) and break the drain loose.STILL STUCK. ? Apply generous amount of LUBRICANT, have a cup of coffee.Upon returning - check extractor for firm, tight fit, reattach tool (cheater too). Now turn and remove formerly "frozen" piece. In
