Ordered this: Bates- PVC Pipe Cutter, Cuts up to 1-1/4", Ivory Ratcheting PVC Pipe Cutter Tool, Pipe Cutters PVC Pipe Shears, Plastic Pipe Cutter, PEX Pipe Cutter, PVC Cutter Tool, PVC Ratchet Cutter -- in order to have one on hand for this spring when I am going to build some extensive raised garden PVC frames. Tested it out on some grey electrical 3/4 inch tubing and it went through it super clean and easy. Build quality is not great, I wouldn't expect this product to hold up to every day professional use, but for one project or infrequent homeowner use it seems like a compact low cost way to get the job done. Little tricky to figure out the ratcheting and release of the blade, be careful. They cut super clean though so did go in my tool bag.

Blade may be alright but the overall quality is extremely poor and flimsy and feels like it’ll fall apart in no time. Also be careful when you pull it apart to open it as the blade springs open quite strong.Not something I would recommend, unless you need something cheap for a one time use.

These PVC cutters are similar to others I've used in the past, although they are much lighter weight. This shouldn't be an issue when cutting plastic pipes though.My only thing to point out is to be aware of the locking mechanism as it was a little finicky for me at first.

This is good enough for small projects around the house, but I wouldn't do a lot of work with it. I used it to reroute some PVC from the HVAC unit and it worked fine for that. It's a bit flimsy and doesn't feel super solid in the hand. It does cut fine, so that's not the problem. I just worry about the longevity of this.

The Bates PVC Pipe Cutter is not a well constructed item. Wobbly, loose construction with a blade that does not retract fully. Spring mechanism may of a poor design. Will be returning.
