My fiancé and I both got ebikes for Christmas. Her bike has the MIK system built in but I wanted to add it to mine so we can mix and match accessories as needed.This Basil MIK carrier plate was very easy to install. I put the bags on the carrier to get the best alignment with the bikes existing rack and then removed the bags and tightened down the carrier plate and was done.On top of the Basil MIK bags I also added their double decker plate for a top bag/crate when needed. A great system once you figure out what it can do.

Have had the MIK system for 2 years now on the lightweight zizzo rack for folding bikes with 20" wheels. I attached the mounting bracket with normal zip ties to a milk crate, and it is fantastic for carrying bulkier items such as 1 galleon water jugs from the groceries or to strap a pizza box onto. It has an impressive amount of adjustability for the rack, and even with a heavy load of a bunch of orange juice jugs, it feels as secure and strong as the milk crate itself. Much better than relying on saggy bungie cords. Much more comfortable having all that weight on the bike, not my back or bum. Easy to pop on and off the rack. It isn't thief-proof since the key is just a rectangle of steel you prod into a hole to release the spring mechanism. But I wouldn't want to leave anything valuable on an unattended bike anyway.I did a lot of research and was not impressed by the durability or cost of other bike storage solutions. This requires some allen wrenching for the initial install, but otherwise I am happy to have picked this better storage solution.I am a road cyclist who occassionally hits some light gravel, so I cannot vouch for the system's strength under heavier jostling such as mountain biking or heavy gravel.

The Basil MIK Carrier Plate is a fabulous product that took about 15-20 minutes to install on my Serial 1 Rush e-Bike. It immediately transforms your bike’s carrier rack into a versatile rack to which you can quickly hook on and unhook whatever accessories that fit your bikes rack from bags, panniers, baskets everything can be swapped I seconds and you’re ready to go.Keep in mind that for every accessory you hook up, you’ll need buy separately the MIK adapter plate that will it self be installed on those accessories. Gone are the loosening Velcro or tie straps, the bags sliding off to the sides and now all accessories will be firmly attached to the MIK Carrier Plate. It is so versatile that many e-Bike companies already have them installed in the original carrier racks from the factory so all you’ll need to purchase are the adapter plates for the various accessories.I’ve highly recommended the MIK Carrier Plate and the adapter on many forums and on social media and I highly recommend it here on Amazon as well.

Great for MIK (Mounting Is Key) compatible accessories like racks, baskets, bags or packs. Standard accessories not specified MIK compatible may require some modifications. This mounting plate is only part of the system. Your accessory needs to come with the adapter that fits onto this mounting plate. The adapter is available separately and may require some creativity to attach to your accessory (bag, etc.). This mounting plate also needs to fit onto your rack. The mounting plate is adjustable for a variety of racks, both front and rear, but may not fit all racks. These plates and adapters do not originate in the U.S. They are made in Europe so may be sold under slightly different names. Just be sure it has MIK in the description or name. Quality is very good.

This carrier plate adapts a bike carrier rack to the MIK system. I like the functionality of the MIK system, which allows accessories to be easily attached and detached to/from a bike carrier rack. However, the carrier plate (this item) and the other MIK adaptors are made of lots of plastic and so the strength and long term durability of the system is a concern; I think it's fine for panniers but I'm leery of putting heavy items in MIK attached baskets; I wish these were made of aluminum instead. Aesthetically, the thing is rather bulky looking and sits high on the rack. Notes: The clamps protrude about a half inch beyond each end of the rack; a MIK "key" is not a security key but merely a tool that facilitates detaching an accessory; an accessory can still be easily removed by hand if one understand how the MIK system works (but I think relatively secure from someone who doesn't).

As an active cyclist, this is the best bike mount I found, easy to use especially if you need keep swapping bag to storage e.g. Delivery box
