This image shows the construction of the silicone o ring

What Makes The Silicone O-Ring Syringe So Popular?

It's all about this thin silicone gasket called an o-ring. That o-ring provides just the right oomph so there's always a smooth and easy plunger glide without any leakage or sticking. You can wash and reuse o-ring syringes many times and they'll slide easily and evenly. The markings will stay on after many washings too.

Syringes for feeding and tube feeding and blended diets

O-ring Syringes Are Perfect For Blended Diets For People With Feeding Tubes

Because the silicone o-ring syringe can be washed and reused hundreds of times, they are perfect for delivering blended diets and tube feedings. Never worry about the plunger sticking, or uncontrollably squirting or hurting your hands. The plunger will continue to offer a smooth easy glide, time after time.

Hand feeding syringe for animals.

O-ring Syringes Will Not Affect The Taste Or The Chemistry Of The Feeding Syringe Contents

These syringes use medical grade, inert silicone. This is the preferred syringe for all hand feeding of animals. The silicone will not give the contents that rubber band taste found with black rubber gasket syringes and it won't affect the contents in any way.

Eliminate excess plastic waste by using reusable o-ring syringes

Reusable Syringes Make Sense For Your Pocket And For Your Planet

Let's do the math.

1 o-ring syringe can easily replace 270 disposable syringes.

That can make a huge difference.

Let's say 100 people use reusable syringes. That could mean that 100 syringes are replacing 27,000 disposable syringes!

We all want to cut back on plastic waste.

These syringes are very durable and well-made. They survive wash after wash after wash and still look brand new. I use them for hand, feeding my parrots, and they’re wonderful for that.

This is the 3rd pack of these I’ve bought for tube feeding my son. The other 2 were absolutely perfect and have lasted a very long time. The last batch I got felt extremely chip and brittle, they weighed significantly less, meaning the quality of plastic was less, and 3 came chipped and broken due to the brittle cheap plastic, the ones that were not broken, LEAKED everywhere. I could not use them in any fashion, they would only pull air in when trying to pull food in and if you got any food in it you the. Couldn’t push into button bc only the air would push first. I really they hope they change whatever formula or production changes they have made back to the way it was, Oring syringes that work have made my job feeding my son so much easier than those cheap disposable ones they send.

We've been using BASIK Syringes for my mother's tube feedings for the past three years and loooove them! They're only syringes that last more than one or two meals. They're easy to keep clean and use. As of our last purchase in June 2024, the design has been upgraded slightly. The barrel is narrower, the tip is more tapered, and the plunger is slightly longer from the back of the flange to the thumb rest. We've used two out of this new package, and while not a deal breaker, the tips drip a tiny bit by the time you get it inserted into feeding tube port. The old design never dripped. Also, the excess length of the plunger makes it difficult to fill the syringe to the 60ml and be able to stretch your thumb out enough to meet the thumb rest. This means we're filling the syringe to about 50 - 50.5ml for each round. This might not be a problem for folks with larger hands, but not everyone is a large. Again, not a deal breaker, but when you're using it for meals, sometimes those extra ml's make a difference in how long it takes you to get the job done.Otherwise, they still work smoothly and last a long time. Just hope they rethink the redesign. Sometimes newer isn't better.

I have to syringe-feed my cat, and I've tried all sorts of syringes. Previously I re-used disposable syringes but after a few uses, the plunger becomes much harder to press or pull through and ultimately breaks, causing me to need to regularly reorder syringes. I've been using these about 10 days now and I've had no such issue; they're smooth in and out every time, even when I blend dry food with wet food (to add calorie density).I didn't have issues with the ink labels washing off, but I put Scotch tape over them regardless to prevent that just in case. The size is right, the ease of use is excellent and given the reusability, it's well worth the money. They also come with caps which I've found very helpful.

These have worked out perfect for syringe feeding our dog. Our vet was kind enough to give us some other syringes he had on hand, but unfortunately they were small and required frequent refills of my dog's food. Additionally, the vet ones did not flow smoothly and would suddenly shoot a lot of food out at once, causing a mess. The Enteral syringes, on the other hand, hold 60+ ml of food and flow smoothly. Feedings have been a lot easier and we couldn't be more pleased with this product. When/if the time comes, we will definitely order these again!

I am enjoying these syringes immensely! We have special needs rabbits that have to be fed with replacement feedings for additional nutrients while recovering. I have ordered FOREVER 60cc syringes that last if lucky a week. Regular feeding syringes after just a few uses don’t glide anymore. Extremely difficult to push the food through even you try to extend with using olive oil on the plunger. I ran a across your syringes and thought I would give them a go. #1- They glide smoothly 2#very easy to push through food #3 have not lost the easy glide #4 easy to clean #5 safer to use. I know that eventually they will wear out. Am still on the first syringe and have used 33 times and it still feels like the first use. They are extremely affordable especially when you don’t have to replace every week like the typical feeding syringe. Without a doubt would recommend to anyone that have animals that need syringe feedings and will tell everyone I know. I will try and update to let you know when this one wears out. Could be a while. Thank you for your syringes! They also save your hand from the strain of trying to push food through. If a person has arthritis or carpal tunnel try these you won’t be in pain. I ordered 5 and thank you for giving me one extra. Very kind. Our rabbits thank you as well. The tip is also smoother so not so rough on the bunnies tongue or mouth. Sorry so long but so many good things about Enteral Feeding Syringes.

The cost is worth it - as opposed to the non-Oring syringes that need to be discarded after one or two uses and are a pain to use (and if your vet charges you for useless syringes). These syringes glide easily, are easily rinsed/washed, and can be used for AT LEAST a month or more per syringe (typically, 35-50 days per syringe, when you're feeding a pet 4 times a day or more, you need a syringe that will glide smoothly, consistently). When you have a pet with a surgically placed feeding tube (E-tube, NG-tube, Peg-tube etc), these are a lifesaver, cost-saver, and so comfortable for both you and pet while administering food. I would only advise putting scotch tape over the measuring lines as the ink wears off after repeated use/washing (or re-mark them with a sharpie before they wear off).
